You shouldn't be losing loot unless it's still laying on the floor when you freeze. The game saves your inventory every time it changes. If you're actually losing items, that's a separate problem.

As for the freezing, the most recent suggestion that seems to be successful for people is to crank the Background FPS option up to maximum. Of course, this is only the latest in a long string of suggestions that only seem to work for some people, so YMMV.

Oh I see. Thanks for your help. I'll try to do what you said about the FPS and I'm gonna search for another solutions available for this problem. Thanks again.

Just had a freeze for the second time now in the last 24 hours when I want to exit the game from the Esc menu. I can't do anything when that happens, not even alt-Tab or open Task Manager or anything, the screen stays black and all I can see is the Grim Dawn cursor, which I'm able to move around. Only thing I can do is a hard reset..

Never had this before in all the hours I played this game.. not even in early access :/

And for all it matter, I'm using Win 10 (all updates) with the latest nVidia driver.

Same for me. Only a hard shut down (hold power button down until machine turns off) fixes the problem. If I properly log out of GD and Steam, and do a soft reset and fire it up again, it seems like it "remembers" that I was playing before and it fails quicker than before. It's almost like there's a timer that starts and when you're playing it counts down until it locks up my machine.

Has Crate publicly acknowledged that they're working on fixing this major issue that so many users are having?

I spent the morning stress testing this, and while I did manage to get almost six hours in before the game froze, it still froze. So, it's not a solution, but a potential workaround for some users.

They've publicly acknowledge that they're trying to figure out what the issue is. The problem is, as evidenced by how many different suggested workarounds there are that work for some people but not others, that there most likely isn't just *one* issue. There might be a dozen or more different problems affecting different users that just happen to produce the same end result.

Please try running the game in borderless windowed mode if you are having this issue. You may be able to generate a crash report.

I run almost exclusively in borderless windowed. Of the dozens of times the game has frozen, I've only gotten the crash reporter twice, and submitted both times.

I get the hard crash about once a day..have to reboot system.

Running borderless will generate an automadic report? Otherwise, I can't get out of the frozen game screen to send one.

Just happened to me now and has been happening more frequently over the last week. Display driver crashes and usually the game does too. If I'm lucky, I can get back to the game (black screen and cursor) by switching to windowed mode via alt-enter to refresh the screen so i can close the game cleanly. Unfortunately, this last time it crashed completely so I sent the error report and reboot my system (audio is bugged after display driver crashes).

Back into the crypt I go.

Yesterday, Zantai ( Dev) ) said : " If you are unable to play because of the rare crash issue, we are investigating it and there is nothing more to be said on that until we have a meaningful update to give. "

Some of us are waiting since B31, two weeks...

Playing the game in borderless makes no difference for me whatsoever. Rarely the crash report comes up afterwards.
