Depends on your DPs and defenses, really. 10K hp with -50 all resistances won't last you a sec.

I would say 8000 as the bare minimum, but it really depends on your DPS, defensive capabilities, various resists, ways to get back life, CCs etc

Mobs hitting for 4000+ are not rare in ultimate.

I am using ice (max sky shard, max flash freeze, max star pact) thunder combo (lvl 1 whirlwind with max magic reduction and max maelstorm) and devastation for extremely resistant mobs such as the undead with some support skills like max elemental exchange, max sphere of protection + max conversion and a yeti pet =p

5-7k min is my opinion. Like saladir said "it depends"

Nope second, my first one was a shaman and even with 6k it wasn't enough.
Arcanist ice allow you a real glass canon build. To be fair i think it deserved a nerf....

You can just stun an enemy in a choke point, throw your dps behind him (Sky shard & devastation) where all the mob stack. Just avoid hitting the first mob that block all the other behind, Run forward and backward to make him attack so he will stand still.

Only issue is the ranged enemy so Mirror of Ereoctes and some resist fix that.

This build gets 1 shot in Ultimate.

I've tested it.

@OP - you need about 8k hp minimum to avoid being 1 shot in ultimate.

With 2500 hp, you will suffer a lot in ultimate, Mirror and CC are great, really they are, but only when they work or are avaiable.

Anything immune to cold, have fun, anything popping under your feet, that stuns or freezes you, you are dead, any mistake, dead.

Most death rooms will be death for sure, some endact bosses or nemesis are guaranted death too with that low health.

Doable, perhaps, in softcore, if you enjoy dreaming about all the DPS you could do while kissing the floor doing zero DPS.
I'd say around 10k hp for ranged with more or less maxed resistances to be comfortable. Armor doesn't make a big difference against 8k hits from some hero+ melee monsters (%physical resistance affix helps but thats very rare on items). Still usefull for melee if you're surrounded by low/med damage monsters.

26к minimum

2500 hp on ultimate lol iamlegend :StunJacks:

How the hell do you only get 2,500 health? You get more than that from mastery alone. You'd need to purposely not max out a mastery and avoid ANY boosts to health or physique on gear... as in going out of your way to be squishy. I just don't get it...
Jeckenn Mar 4, 2016 @ 9:39am
So when you change to Elite why do resistances suddenly seem to change to the -minus category? How come?
Matthew Mar 4, 2016 @ 9:46am
Elite = -25 resists. Ultimate = -50 resists.

It is a cheap and somewhat effective way to keep you searching for gear. e.g., that 20 resist all amulet is no longer good enough, so need to find that 35 resist all amulet.
Matthew Mar 4, 2016 @ 10:10am
No, you misunderstand. I mean I don't get how you don't accidently get more than 2,500. You must have purposely tried to cut health somewhere, because maxing masteries alone would get you more than that.

Most gear with health bonus come also with defensive stats or no so high damage bonus so yeah you're right i kind of purposely avoid gear giving health.
Testing right now i can handle 2-3 range hit but most melee hit kill me.

A couple of things that makes these posts rather silly:

#1 In Ultimate bosses and all of the reanimator undead classes and the yetis are immune to freeze. Good luck using your "super" strategy there - you'll just get rushed, esp. by yetis

#2 Reflect bosses = you dead instantly

#3 I've actually tested this build - 20% damage reduction is nothing, and even late elite the build is simply not good enough to survive

On Ultimate?

Sorry, that's a lie.
