The Flames of Valbury Achievement
Has anyone else had an issue with this achievement completing?

I just did a full clear of Valbury, found and I thought completed the Flames of Valbury event but the achievement did not unlock. Anything special to do after killing all the waves of mobs? Or is it a known bug?

I've seen some friends with it so I dunno what to think.

Thanks!

After you finished the waves of creatures and the aether geysers that erupted around you. You needed to open the chest near the middle of that area.

However, I did do this twice before and the achievement did not happen.
It finally happened on my third character through.
Thanks, I'll try another run and see what happens!
So you are telling us you ran into a hidden dungoen, fought through the waves of enemies that guard the magic loot crate only to not open the loot crate after you won....?

To be fair, these loot crates aren't very noticeable. I had to scan for like a minute for the reliquary in the Ancient Grove challenge area (forgot what it was called). When you killed all the enemies where the loot box is and it's all colored a similar color, it's just not noticeable. Plus, if you don't understand that every challenge area within a skeleton key dungeon has a reliquary in it, you don't even think about it.
the chest can be straight up hidden under an enemy corpse, happens frequently in valbury and ToH trap room for me because of fighting them on the chest and large mob spawn that can cover it once they fall
A second run and the achievement popped. Its possible I missed the chest the first time due to the bodies piled high.

I was one mis-click away from doing exactly this when I finished a challenge dungeon for the first time. I was just relieved I won, and was bee-lining for the exit; immediately after I failed to leave it occurred to me that no achievement had popped up. "Oh, guess I have to open that chest I missed."
You need to open the vault before the system will determine that the achievement is unlocked.

I can't tell you how many times I've just flat out missed a chest because I didn't see the thing. Big bosses too, especially where they hide the loot you're actually there for in some chest off to the side. Some of those things I think are just poor design. The loot from bosses should just drop off the boss, honestly.

I always miss them ;-;
I do agree that when you beat a boss, the reward chest should stand out a little more from the environment. (I'm okay with regular chests blending into the background more, because finding them is the point) I've missed an embarrassing number of "free" chests that I already put the work in to earn this way.
