Need help with controller target lock
You see, this game is perfect for a handheld like the Steam Deck due to its high quality, low system requirements and pick-up-n-play nature. However, one major issue I've had was that the default targeting system seems to ALWAYS prioritize the trash mobs over the boss that's surrounded by them. This became an issue when I faced the first ever proper boss in that cave, where it would infinitely summon new mobs to a point it's impossible to target it unless I go dangerously near.

This game needs a controller target lock feature (like pressing the right thumb stick in Diablo 4). Targeting specific mob while moving away from it or among a sea of mobs is a given feature for MKB but without a proper locking function on the controller, I can see pretty much all ranged single-target skills useless.

does the existing target lock option not work with controller?
*classic targeting? in settings menu

I tried both on / off for that option and honestly I couldn't tell any difference. In both cases, if a boss is surrounded by its summons, targeting system will always prioritize the summons because they are closer & their hit boxes are blocking the direct view to the boss, which is OK because this is how this targeting system is supposed to work.

However, in most of the similar games there's also a locking mechanism where once you have target, you press a button to lock your focus to this target. This is not needed for KBM because mouse gives you that ability, but for a controller this becomes necessary. If the boss keeps summoning trash mobs, it becomes very difficult for a ranged low-defense build to do any damage to it if such target lock system isn't in place.

ye if it's purely distance based, thus "effectively" ignoring the classic targeting option for controller it would make it kinda not as useful for controller,
unsure if that's intended or not, or the game just can't cycle through targets manually other than left stick direction+distance, or devs simply didn't consider it altogether :tiwithink:
i'm sure Z will spot this post, since he seems to see them all, but you can also always pop in a request/feedback thread on the official forum https://forums.crateentertainment.com/c/grimdawn/ideas-and-feedback/16

Stop right there, I don't see this leading into any constructive path.

Thanks for the insights, and yeah I'm grateful for the controller support as-is given the fact the game wasn't built on top of this idea initially.
