act 3 boss one shotting me on veteran?
The Sigil of Cthon; second form. I have 8000 hp and 30% chaos resistance. Not sure what he is even hitting me with? I am keeping a mid-range distance and the fight is going fine. Then all of a sudden I am instantly dead and the boss heals himself.

the crystal he summon, unless you have 80% is hard to survive.

Yeah Like Faust said, just need to pump your chaos resist to max and I *think* vitality as well? Black Tallow on your amulet and medal and imbued silver on your weapon/offhand should be enough
According to the fandom wiki, both forms use chaos and vitality attacks. My friend and I killed him several hours ago on Veteran at level 45. I have 40% vitality resist, 48% chaos resist, and 8100 hp right now. He was a chump. I just auto attacked him until he was dead. Used a health potion once when he was at about 10%.

At the moment, I have 17% physical resist, 492 armor rating, 997/1334 OA/DA, 325 hp regen, and 7% life steal as a druid with a two handed weapon. 13 deaths so far. A pretty average character for someone who has played the game before. My friend is a lot more squishy, he's a pet class (necro + arcanist). Maybe we got lucky with the crystal and we killed it by accident with AoE or pets before it fired off.

Ah, the infamous chaos crystals. Get the popcorn out, there may be a few interesting individuals stopping by to spice up the thread 🤣

But ye, it is after that point where you really start to notice low resists. Aether resist reduction + aether rain from some enemies around that time. Skelly key dungeons coming up if you side with a certain npc.

One of the easiest fixes for awkard chaos resists is if you side with the necro bros. Clear out the faction hold east of the grove waypoint a few times. They drop these medals which have 30+ INNATE chaos resist. Get a "preserving" or "warding" can really help bump up some of those harder resists to max.

Oh, by the way, you can kill the crystals before they fire. Another option if you have low resists, just make sure you have the quick AoE dps to do it.

Yeah, in this game 30% is considered really low.

A, craft and drink elixir that gives you chaos resists.

Might be a triple chaos pools that he can spawn beneath you.
aside from chaos dmg, and the aforementioned tickle of vitality dmg by amyasleigh, he'll also do fire dmg and some phys dmg (so armour rating can be a factor too), minions also do some poison dmg

You can also turn off vet temp if u want & turn it back on after u kill him. Some peeps dont realize that vet is a toggle & can be turned off & on whenever. it doesnt break your game.
