New to GrimDawn, Should I get all the dlc ?

I'm coming from many years of D2 and looking forward to finally try it. I'm a bit confused about the dlcs considering there's what it seems to be 3 different ones. Should I get the whole bundle or vanilla does the job ?

You're asking that question in the Grim Dawn forum so I would imagine most people are going to answer with "yes"

You can experience the gameplay and more than enough content with just the base game.

DLC is also great, but if you are really not able/willing to pay whatever it is right now then the base game won't disappoint.

Usually there are plenty of sales for GD and or the DLCs so it really doesn't matter that much when you pick them up unless you really think $10 difference due to different sales is going to matter to you.

Play the base game and see if you like it.
The DLCs go on sale on a regular basis.
Ashes Of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods add new maps and new classes.
Crucible is an Arena-style "defeat increasingly difficult waves" that can help a bit with leveling up, and sometimes has some good loot drops if you survive.
There are so many different single-class and hybrid-class builds you can create in the base game alone- it is quite possible to spend hundreds or thousands of hours playing just the base game with different builds each time.

Play what you have and see if you enjoy the game. If you want more, the DLCs will go on sale again later, and are often on sale on Humble Bundle when they are full-price on Steam. You can always pick them up later if you really get into the game.

YES!!! grim dawn is the evolution of D2 put simply.

If you like Grim Dawn, you should definitely get all the DLC, because it's more Grim Dawn.

I'd recommend at least Ashes of Malmouth since it raises the level cap from 85-100. It's on sale often (right now even), so I'd just grab it all, it's worth it.

I played intill I beat the Act 1 boss then Bought the DLC right away.

The DLC classes are pretty nice to have (especially the Inquisitor), the areas they go to are nice and I r e a l l y like the Malmouth Area as Port Valbury just looks s a d compared to Malmouth while Forgotten Gods has that Act 2 desert theme and it just nice.

Just make sure to atleast beat the first Act to see if you like the game.
I like the game but when I go to sleep all I remember is f a r m v i l l e.

Safest best is try base game and get the xpacs if you like it.

I like using crucible mode to just smash stuff and get some loot. The other two provide some good stuff as well, but if you dont like the main game, they likely wont change your mind.

I have 150 hours and I only have the base game. I have beat it multiple times but only on normal difficulty. Never taken a character through all 3 difficulties and I love this game even though I have only experienced a fraction of this game.

Probably the most honest answer I can give is to assess your interest now. Are you just curious and willing to spend a few bucks to try it? If so, get the base game and then come back later if you really enjoy it.

If you've played other ARPGs and really enjoy that type of game, read on. The two main competitors to Grim Dawn are Diablo 3 and Path of Exile. If you've poured hundreds or thousands of hours into those, you'll love GD and you should just pick up everything in the bundle.

The bundle itself:
* Ashes of Malmouth expansion (new content)
* Forgotten Gods (new content)
* Crucible (an arena-style game mode where you fight against increasingly difficult waves of monsters until you tap out)

A new expansion is currently deep in development, so don't worry about the age of the game and the possibility that Crate won't continue active support. It's still very much a game with an active dev team.

If you've played D3, you'll notice the art is a little less clean. The voice acting is not as good. Blizzard is an art-driven studio. The game play is still fast, responsive, and addictive. The nice thing is that GD is infinitely better itemized and you have many more late game options. If you've played PoE, you'll notice there's still a ton of options (even overwhelming at time) to customize your character, but not quite as much as PoE. The dual-class system simplifies things a bit and the Devotions are less complicated than PoE's skill web. I won't try and compare it to the newer generation of ARPGs. It's an older game, so that's not really fair, but with patch 1.2, Crate has adopted a number of "modern" features such as built-in evade skill and potions as well as updated boss mechanics.

Hopefully that gives some useful feedback.

Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten gods are incredible, and I highly recommend getting both ASAP if you intend to spend extended time with the game.

Crucible is an endgame mode. It's fun if you enjoy arena gameplay, but not necessary.

Supporter packs are just whacky cosmetics. I have both and I think I only ever used a single glove skin from one of them.

Crucible isnt endgame only. You can start a character there and get itemized there. Or go back and forth and play some campaign or go play crucible if you get bored of playing campaign. The xpacs are more endgame than crucible.
