if GD2 ever happens, i hope it will be kind of like a seasonal game

I don't know if you are aware but there IS an unofficial seasonal mod for GD. They'll be starting season 6 soonish. I think they even have an official header on the crate forums if you're looking for more information.

3 months like D4 and with the quality that offer is not even good as Seasons.

I really hope not. I want GD2 to be an offline singleplayer game with optional co-op, just like GD1.

Official online seasons with leaderboards and all that fluff would require a server infrastructure like battlenet and massive anti-cheat measures. Crate is still a small indie studio mind you, I hope they'll spend their limited resources elsewhere.

D2 had a lot fo stuff gated off to ladder only, rune words, items/sets, bosses,
wasn't until mods happened it was available singleplayer offline
