Advice farming Manticore Eyes

Hi,

Am trying to craft a savage relic. Can anyone advise if there is a best bplace to find Manticore eyes?

...Is it just about killing a billion Manticores in Pine Barrens?

The only thing is, if you are a higher level than the mobs, they won't drop rare components.

The limit is like 10 levels over on rare craft materials. So they should drop on any difficulty as long as you aren't more than 10 levels higher than the enemies. If you're that much higher, you will have to try farming in Bloodgrove (very few manticores) or go up to the next difficulty.

According to the Wiki:

Manticore Eye is a rare crafting material. It can drop from the following monsters:

Mogara, the Prime Matriarch (28% Chance)
Manticore Named Heroes (15% Chance)
Manticore Alphas (4% Chance)

So small chance from Alpha manticores, better chance from Heroes, and highest chance from the Boss (purple name).

You can get those most anywhere from enemies over level 40, but the drop rate is awful. You could try dismantling Epics that are 40+ if you have spare epics and dynamite. Also the secret merchant in Blood Grove and the merchant in the Steps of Torment can sell them, but they appear fairly randomly.

Also, the chest that you blow up using dynamite can drop a manticore eye

No, it's also about taking their eyes!

I got 5 complete dreadskulls i can let you have 1 if your busting or they drop off any mobs/
champs/bosses over 40 !

I suggest farming Mogara. She have a fixed spawn, and you can farm the black legion bounty for her. Run to her location, kill her, open the nearby chest (fairly hidden between the tree and the giant skeleton behind where she spawn), relog, restart.
Note that you might have to relog several time for the proper bounty to appear.
That's what I did. Sometimes you're lucky and there is an extra manticore hero nearby.

If you're not into farming you could also dismantle your blues. I ran out of room in the transfer bank so ended up dismantling 45 blues. I got 4 eyes total from it aswell as some other nice crafting pieces. Not great odd sure, but does give you another option.

Hey thanks, this helped me. I'm level 65 and just BARELY realized that the components I was missing to make a Deathchill Relic were craftable... this entire time I was wondering why I had never found the components xD

Was missing a Manticore Eye, and the boss in Ancient Grove was kind enough to drop one for me.
