Yes, the #1 thing that makes or breaks an ARPG, camera rotation.
Glad it isn't just me that thinks that. I mean, D3 was decent enough after a few months post release.... but it isn't that unique and, IMO, there is not a lot of replayability to it.
So D4 seemed quite "meh" to me, especially compared to Grim Dawn or Path of Exile. Maybe D4 will be better after release, but I highly doubt that.
Depends on the player. Personally I don't use camera rotation. I see no need for it in the games I play. Others will feel differently. I know I can't watch streamers who use camera rotation because it makes me feel sick.
Some people hate it. Some people, like me, love it.
While I wouldn't go as far as to put it in "make or break" territory it's one of those things that are up high on the list for me. About 10+ years ago right before GD went into early access I was mucking around with TQ wishing I could find a mod that set the camera free. Then came GD and I rejoiced that we finally had a diablo-like that wasn't trying to gimp me.
So yeah.. I can survive without if need be but damn am I happier when I'm blitzing around Cairn flicking the camera every which way that I please.
Never done that in an arpg, and never will! But yeah D4 seems like it's more of a mmoarpg, and i'm no fan of that. However, the game plays well, looks&sounds very good. Combat has real impact to it which is important. If GD 2 is ever to happen, i hope they can make the combat feel nicer.
I'm probably dead when that happens.
You forgot the /s.
