Whomever designed the Collisuem near Smuggler's Pass needs to have their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hands hammered.
Winding area with a boss that spams AOE attacks and regenerates, five pharagraphs of gore porn, that some neckbeard wrote whilst pleasuring himself to a guro hentai, altar that spawns so many horrors -- it blocks your character from moving.

Why design a good encounter when you can just spam ♥♥♥♥ at the player in confined spaces? I was thinking of refunding it, but I decided to give it a go anyway. It was tolerable -- a winding intestine of a "map", in which you are the undigested peanut trying to battle constipation: enemies that either kill you outright or die so fast I can't even read their names, top necro minions running after you instead of attacking said enemies -- and dying like little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ despite the buffs (and that's at level 32 on maxed out abilities and with pet-esque devotion points), whilst a boss chases your PC like a heat-seeking missile, ignoring everything around him, but this takes the cake.

Skill issue.

I've played on Veteran from the get-go, and have only died twice. Whilst wearing fluff armour. It's a game design issue.

Have you tried, you know, not going into an optional area?

Better yet, try pressing some buttons. That must really do the difference. Pet control one in particular.

You can use healing potions when you reach low hp.
Or use something else if your fluff armor doesn't quite do the trick.

There are many other encounters much tougher. Take it as a challenge not design issue.

only one near hard encounter in this area is celestial totem with 5 tentacle bosses, or when undead nemesis spawn near arena boss, rest are not even worth mentioning

Build issue or skill issue

This may be the laxative for the undigested peanut that you have been searching for -

Post your build. There is obviously an issue with it as I can kill everything in that area without getting killed and using minimal abilities

I'm expecting extremely poor attention towards defenses here to be the main culprit. The big undead in the middle of that optional area is mostly just a sponge with additional minions. As mentioned the Celestial Totem that can spawn in that area is usually a harder fight. The little arena that was passed back near Four Hills is much more dangerous.

I designed it, give me a medal or cookie instead. :steammocking:

Damn, are we even playing the same game? Crazy take. Did you set your pets to aggressive? Do you use pet attack command? Are your resists super low? Everything on normal difficulty (veteran or not, but veteran is a waste of time imo) is pretty easy.

Not sure what difficulty you're on but veteran can be played with a blindfold pretty much
The coliseum, the bone giants anyway what you need is a glyph augment to jump/teleport away when it gets close. I usually jump past them and start attacking from the other side
On ultimate I died there, once? Fighting it

Gore porn? It was someone who witnessed the final result of Uruborak's curse on the Arkovians, that was the first recorded case of what it really did to people. Made them immortal like Death Becomes Her

Try Port Valbury, that is ungodly difficult on Elite and Ultimate

They are always on aggressive, but that's not the point.

The Skeleton Warriors are following me as I run from the boss, instead of attacking his ass.

They seem to be more concerned with survival, than the living.

The boss, however, is always following me. I have cleared the area (after I died there once), it's just that it's annoying to see all the Necro and Occulstis summoning skills maxed, and your army still getting beat by creeps. It's either they kill everything so fast, that I hardly notcie that the enemies spawn, or these minions die instantly, and I have to run away and respawn everyone.

I am not arguing that the area is hard. I just find it to be scumbag design: force the player into a limited area, have a boss that constantly spawns enemies + AOE + stun + regen. I can't even tell what the hell is going on. 90% of the time, whenever I activate a totem -- the enemy bosses that spawn block my character. I have also seen various large beings getting stuck in things, in a continous running animation.

And then to top it off, you get this note with pharagraphs of gruesome detail that some maniac wrote. That's another thing about this RPG -- the entries go on forever and carry little in terms of information.

I remember Inquisitor, which had TONS of text (probably more than most RPGs, let alone aRPGS), but it was loaded with details.

I mean... all boss fights look like Benny Hill intro. All you have to do is cue the music. I understand -- you're a necro, you're supposed to be the prime target, but it's sort of annoying to run around the entire map, whilst getting stuck in objects. I mean, this is not what I'd call "quality game design". At least have the boss attack you 50% of the time, but no... the boner golem has a hard on for you, and only you (damn, I wish women chased me the way bosses do in this game).

Ya, that's the pet command part, where you use it to make them attack the boss instead of following you, unless you run too far away of course. But I get your point, you don't like the design. Fair enough.
The pet command part only affects Occultist pets, not the skeletons it seems. And I've buffed them quite a bit -- all of my armour is supposed to be improving my lackeys.

It's kinda useless when my lackeys are ignored and I get nuked, since Necros in almost all of the games are glass cannons.
