Does Fire Strike work as a melee skill?

And is it worth it as a melee skill? I;ve used Demolitionist all the time and countless builds with them, and I'm getting tired of projectiles. I've won the game, easily, with lighting/melee builds, but I want to start burning ♥♥♥♥ up.

Yeah it works as a melee skill and a main attack replacer. Only drawback is that [Brimstone] does not create the fragments. But you can make some crazy fast builds with high single-target DPS (Pyromancer for instance).

Now that I know it counts as melee I'm gonna have some fun experimenting. i have nothing better to do for the next few years. :P
