Is there any quick way to build up reputation with them? I was just farming hero's on the DLC itself but that seems to be rather slow. Any tips are appreciated :)

Normal missions seem to give the steadiest stream of rep; then you can finish off by doing some bounties and hero farming. It's best to do the same for every faction, actually, since if you focus on farming then you not only waste rep gained from missions in the later difficulties, but whilst farming you're also not progressing through the campaign or collecting higher level loot.

^^^ what he said. "farming" rep is a waste of time.

yep, just questing, else kill each bosses in area after you get Writs or Mandates from reputation Respected, Burning Cellar, Candle District, Ransacked Lighthouse, Malmouth Sewers, Malmouth Harbor, Crown Hill, Fleshworks and Sanctum of Flesh.
Thanks for the replies :)

This is going to change in next expac. Once you get a char to 100, additional chars will be able to start on Ultimate so you will need to do some farming.

Or you could just continue to play through the game like normal to avoid that issue. The ability to start in Ultimate comes with a cost.

And most of us old timers find that appealing how?
The new system is the best that could be hoped for considering the alternatives of nothing at all.

I've been here since early access. I qualify as an old timer now. I don't care if you want to start in Ultimate, but it's going to cost you. I for one don't mind playing through the game normally. Killing enemies is all the same no matter where it is or what difficulty as far as I'm concerned.

If you are starting level 1 ultimate, chances are you also have access to writs. Almost maxed rep from just completing quests with those.

The vanilla version was fine for multiple play throughs, but now that the game itself has (or soon to be) having 2 expacs (almost as long as base game), its just getting way to long to play through 3 times to get to end of ultimate. Its no longer 70 to 80ish hours for a full play though. (unless skipping thru parts)

Sure starting in Ultimate may be a bit harder to begin, but I am sure that the progression will get smoother as you can start to wear stuff from your stash.

I for one would rather start in ultimate and make 3 or 4 chars in same time to make 1 or 2.

You also level up quite fast starting out fresh on Ultimate. Faster still, I imagine, if you make use of xp boons and twinked gear. It'll be slow killing mobs at first but once you get going the pace will pick up.

You definitely have the means available to make starting on Ult as easy or as hard as you want, in all aspects.

And one other bonus I can think of. Usually in vet mode, you dont know how successful a build will be (not experienced players - more the newbs in ultimate). By the time you make it to Homestead from starting in Ult, you should know if you need tweaking of your build.

New folks dont like playing thru 2 difficulties to find their build is junk in ult and that is why devs ended up adding the clarity and other potions.

I suspect many people will go full playthrough with veteran and then skip right to ultimate. A happy medium. Streamlines the process a bit by removing the rather now-unnecessary elite difficulty, but also avoids the numbers "spike" of starting in ultimate.

Personally, I am hype to try level 1 ultimate with xp potions. I think by the time the initial power spike of pumping good leveling skills wears off, you will be high enough level to start using some of the mid-range gear from your stash.

Two playthroughs might be the right balance. Honestly I do start to get burned out by the time I reach level 100 mid-Ultimate.
