Drop item not working?

Just looked up the hotkey to drop items (D) and it doesn't work. Any idea why, I have the cursor over things I'm trying to drop. Tried re-mapping it to shift/alt/ctrl-LMB or RMB but all the modifier keys are taken, and seem to just not allow combinations of key inputs.

Pick the item up with the LMB and drop it outside the inventory bag area.

Oh, that's how it works, thanks. Is there a single button you can press to automatically drop something from your inventory without needing to drag it?

No idea, that's just the way I've always done it.

Did you try clicking on the item and then hitting "D"? Maybe that's how it works.
