Player count has grown since Wolcen!
We are now nearly at 7000 players when previously we hover around 3000-4000. Also can I just say for an indie ARPG to even have about this many people playing, even years after the game has come out, is such an achievement. Makes us all happy to know that our favourite ARPG is still being played by so many people.

Yea I'm loving it by far one of my all time favorite games. Also just got my first character to 94 even though i have more than 500 hours logged.

Many people are playing because Wolcen has showstopping bugs in the first 30 minutes of play. I, myself, encountered more than 5 different bugs, one of which rendered progression impossible. I refunded and doubled down on Grim Dawn. Seriously, a couple thousand of Wolcen's players are playing Grim Dawn because Wolcen simply does not work.

Grim Dawn is amazing!

Its also an example of how to self fund and develop a game through early access the right way not the sh** show that Wolcen turned into. I hit a fun bug in Wolcen last night where for reasons which are unclear (literally nothing happened) the game decided I wasn't allowed to access the shop or my personal stash... which was 'fun' :/

Did the same, got mad at the unplayablility of Wolcen, but wanted to play an arpg again. So I restarted playing Grim Dawn again. It is just one of the best arpgs out there.

Yup, I also jumped ship when the constant crashing was too much to take. This is a great game with tons of content. I feel bad that I spent hours in D3 and never actually gave this a chance.

Wolcen looked very interesting but I read enough reviews that said "don't buy yet" and saw enough that said "play Grim Dawn instead" so I'm trying it now. Not sure why I never tried it before.

Beyond word of mouth and steams review process Crate have never really invested money in publicising the game so unless your really into the genre and know of their previous work its easy for it to have passed you by.

They don't have to do publicity.. PC Gamer does it for free!

I don't think it matters if it fails or succeeds. Most fans of the genre are passionate enough to try all / most of what the genre has to offer (not that it's a huge pool, admittedly) and popular new releases will drive up the numbers for other ARPGs.
