I usually prefer using a pad if the control scheme is decent but this one is too difficult.
I have a 360 controller maybe its easier with a steam controller.
I also tried van helsing with a gamepad and it actually works really well in that game.

Works just fine with a 360 when you understand the controls. No, it isn't as simple as (pick-a-game) on your console. Yes, Steam controller does suit it better but the 360-like controllers plays just fine as well.
He's just asking. He doesn't even own the game (yet).
The only thing I would recommend is keeping a mouse handy for selling all your loot. You CAN use a controller for inventory management, but a mouse is quicker.
controller works great . the ONLY problem is that you cant bind aether clusters or ointments (feels like it was on purpose for some reason), and you only have one command bank
