Kymon's Chosen
Always picked Death's Vigil, but did this one for the achievements and wtf?! I have no idea what to think after the last part. Far more interesting than the Death's Vigil quest chain.

Yeah, Kymon's final quest's outcome is far more relevant to the entire storyline than Deaths Vigil's is. I am only hoping that we also get to have a chapter where we also face this particular problem (damn, trying not to give a spoiler is too exhausting).

so once you get reverred with the chosen (and get what you want from their rep vendor) is there any reason not to choose deaths vigil on higher diifficulties with the same character? or is that even possible? my first playthrough was on veteran and i picked chosen. now im on elte and just about to reach that part of the act where i would have to make the choice.

Faction reputation status carries over between difficulties, just like every other aspect of your character. However, changing sides from Kymon's Chosen to Death's Vigil or vice versa resets their reputation, meaning that you have to start over from tolerated with the one you fought in the lower difficulty and hostile with the one you sided with.

And as for reasons to stick with Kymon's Chosen... well, you get achievments for completing their quest line on Ultimate and for attaining Revered status with them. Does that count?

@ Ragic - Which one is better is pretty much purely based on which one has preferable gear for your specific character you are playing. Kymon's has access to some of the only chaos resistance augments, which is a massive + in their favor, while Death's Visage has great Aether and vitality resistance Augments. Both's helms have CDR, so that isn't a major factor, Death's faction has good cold, Aether (off-hand, anyway), and Vitality gear, while Kymons has Fire (lackluster), Lightning (fairly good), and.... I can't ever remember that final one. Never worth considering usually.

A not too uncommon strat is to pick the one you like less for Elite, and buy ALL the augments you can possibly get that are useful for that character, then in Ulti swap to the one you prefer long term.

Anyway, @OP, yea, the ending for Kymons is rather... interesting. I do wonder how it will play out. Both endings do need more fleshing out, but I suspect that will come naturally as we get more expansions, which will let the Devs add more content for both. I personally suspect that the factions will get another rep level when we get Act 5, and maybe Act 6 if we get that (I suspect that is going to be the end personally, nothing past 6 would make real sense. Act 5 would be build up to 6, and 6 would be us going to the capital for the final showdown with the Aetherial menace).

Having played Titan Quest and Immortal Throne, I'm pretty sure that there is still loads of room for extra content. So I don't think act 6 is impossible. The next evil to deal with doesn't necessarily have to be the one you have known about all along.

Spoiler ahead....

Wait a second, The Order quest line ends with a multi-boss battle inside their hq. Kymon's ends with a mundane conversation with a lava lamp. No contest.
