Playing HC pointless with poison water
I lost 2 characters already to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have max resistances and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of hp yet I die in a few seconds to this, before I even see my hp is going down due to all the effects going on.

WTF. Give me one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason not to return the game.

Play softcore?

Avoid poison water areas, which are optional to the main quests?
Damacon Dec 16, 2018 @ 4:10am
1. No.
2. No. I want to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walk around where I want to.

Git gud

No, really. Git gud. You can easily get past the water by increasing your movement speed and healing yourself.

3.And I want little Susie to give me back my lollipop! Now! She beat me up and took it while I was looking at myself playing pocket pool! Wah!

FTFY

If you aren;t paying attention to your Mana and HP meters, and they are dropping fast, no one to blame but you for not paying attention to them. In Softcore or Hardcore. It's amazing how many HC players have gotten through areas with poison water, or been intelligent enough to avoid them, and finished the game in HC, because they know to pay attention to their Mana and HP meters, no matter what is going on.

This is not D3 mate, you can't tank everything with your face. This poison water is meant to hinder you, resists have nothing to do with this. If you can't play, learn first in softcore, don't go hardcore on a game you don't know.

Also, grow up a little. Even 6 year-olds don't act like that.

Just use a health pot as soon as you hit it and look for the gaps in the ground that are safe to traverse it. I have a level 80 HC that has done every single quest (except Mogdrogden :) ) on veteran and all up to the DLC on elite, I have very nearly died many times but never to the poison water areas as I know how dangerous they are.
Your stats and resists mean nothing to that stuff, there is no protection from it (apart from a couple of boots that will give limited protection for a time against it)

If you cannot safely traverse the poison water then hardcore will absolutely not be for you to be honest

I think you meant to end with "give me one reason to return to the game btw ..... not give me a reason not to.

Return the game then, stop pressurize devs, you really liek to blame others a lot in your mistakes don't you?

Listen kids, I have been playing many games on HC in my life, including D2 (since this game is a Diablo clone, this is important). I can accept dying in HC just fine, but this mechanic is completely illogical and retarded.

I also do not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ intend to read wiki ahead of playing to see which areas have hidden ♥♥♥♥ like this, OR playing the entire game on softcore just to find the instakill ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Not all water is instakill, so how am I supposed to guess when I am going to run into a patch that kills me in 3 seconds, regardless of MAX RESISTANCES and a huge hp pool? There is a lot going on in the screen, this stuff kills way too fact to react.

So stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ justifying this ♥♥♥♥, it is not justifiable. As for returning the game, I guess that goes without saying.

Thank you for one decent answer. The part about resists meaning nothing is the one I am referring to, if I was running around willy nilly and died because I have zero resists, I would shrug and restart the game.

The water is NOT poison, and NOT acid, and not anything remotely connected to game mechanics. It has no reason to work like this apart from laziness.

Reread my last sentence, I wrote it correctly.

Use aether clusters if you are in trouble. Stop on the little islands to recover.
Matthew Dec 16, 2018 @ 5:46am
Wow, oh wisened one. I'm surprised with your knowledge and experience of iron maiden, stygian dolls, bugged fire-enchanted heroes, and off-screen bugged gloams, you are having so much trouble with traversing rather simplistic poison ground maps.

Perhaps in your old age, your reflexes are just not what they used to be. Getting old sucks, old man.
Damacon Dec 16, 2018 @ 5:58am
All this existed within game mechanics, those were all enemies and not random crap. if there were tiles on the floor that instakilled you, that would have been a different story.

Health and rejuv pots were instant full heals BTW. This was kind of not ideal solution (too easy), which is why games nowdays do it differently.

As for your derailment:
- IM has a really obvious effect, you died maybe once to it and that was that.
- Dolls can be handled easily.
- Fire was handled by mercs/summons if you didn't have enough tankiness yourself.
- I had no problem with gloams, ever.

My reflexes are not the same, no. This has nothing to do with my point though. Game should be internally consistent, this game has a LOT of damage types, yet they introduced this mechanic. Why exactly? What is the point? It just pisses of people, and this game does not have such a user base to grief users like this.
Tabasco Dec 16, 2018 @ 6:15am
the point is that you should look were you walk and you can not dodge all attacks because of the hazards. this hazards are in port valbury really often. as i wrote above just use the hazardless islands and aether clusters if you really get into trouble.
