Quest markers in a mod?
I like the game, but it's REALLY tedious having to wander around for some quests. Even following the "directions"(LOL) doesn't help. I've ended up finding the locations by pure luck, and some of them are not even where the directions said. Any mods out there to fix this maybe? I understand the "reason" behind it, I just wish it was optional. Having to wander out in the wilderness isn't fun, it's tedious.

Which quests are not located where the directions say?

Dam I had one example, but forgot. What's unclear is for "random" quests, I often had to use the wiki to avoid some excessive errand.

EDIT: Also I'm not sure it's very useful to hide portals markers once you discovered one.

One of the first quests where you have to hunt down and kill 3 bad guys who supposedly are in whitmire. They aren't. Supposedly, they can be in many other places, hiding. I gave up on the quest, downloaded Path of Exile, and am currently enjoying quest markers that let me ACTUALLY COMPLETE QUESTS, not waste my time looking for the location. Just mark the location on the map. How hard can it be????

No problem for me in main quest but I will be much happier if u guys put markers for bounty quest...big time saver...

why is it a problem? why are you rushing through locations instead of investigating everything in a game like this? that way you would have already found everyone

All you have to do is follow the road down the middle and you see the locations of all 3 of the zombies on your mini map as you go past. The only way you could miss them is if you went all the way up through to Foggy Bank staying on the left side of the map without ever exploring the other side.

It's deliberate design to avoid destroy exploration by having blind rush in direction of compass.

In quest you highlight it's perhaps one of the few case of non bounty quests where directions are too light and it requires explore a bit more than just understand the direction and location and find a way to it. But frankly you should be a bit more exploration curious and/or not bother not have done one of the secondary quests. Do you know there's many little secrets, many mildly hidden paths, stuff to find? A pure rush isn't the best idea in my opinion.

A trick is check at mini map at top right, a star on border will appear if you aren't too far from an objective. It's not really cool as it makes you check a bit too often the mini map, but it can help a lot.

EDIT: And that quest you highlight isn't one to do in priority when you get it, continue the flow of the game should allow you do it naturally. Don't worry beside bounty quests, there isn't many quests like that.

Is there a way to abandon quests? I have a long list on the right, and no way to manage it.

You mange quests by doing them. Pick one. Complete it. Manage it.

Here OP. I have the same problem and found this handy interactive online map:

http://the-maphack.com/index.php?page=2&lang=en

Whenever I get stuck or if I need to decide if I have enough time to clear a dungeon I'll alt+tab to this map or have it open on my iPhone.

From my own experience, quests either tell you where to go in the text, or give you a general location and make you explore. Some quests are designed to require reading in order to complete them (either in game or in the wiki, either way, your reading something).

I would highly recomend that you play the game at least once without using the wiki. If you dislike exploring then sure, the wiki is there, but at that point you may as well just download a trainer and teleport everywhere.

In quest log there's an option to activate or not each quest, if inactivated the quest won't be shown to right.

Wiki is the solution in case you are stuck for finding some location related to a quest, it's also handy for bounty quests.
