on veteran+ you need very good items or build.
(you do want to be lvl 85 before you try)
I'm playing on Veteran, level 53 Shaman/Soldier, while he and his summons are level 71. The best I can do is kite/lure away some of the summons and kill them a few at a time. Ah well, maybe will try again later.
he can summon them again(infinitely), and he heals.
better get lvl 85 first, he also heals 50%+ hp if you die on veteran.
he can reduce your ressistance too, and do surprising amounts of damage when he does.
Also, this is my first playthrough, but at this point I'm not sure I'll even get to 85 by the time I complete the game, at which point it would be silly to grind Veteran - I'm assuming it's like Titan Quest / Torchlight 2 and the thing to do would be to carry the character into newgame+?
He scales with your level, your items at level 85 are just better and you get used to fighting lvl 90 opponents anyway.
i don't remember what level he becomes, probably more than 90.
you can always return to veteran from the newgame+(elite and ultimate)
This is the quickest ultimate mog kill (solo) on record ATM. Maybe some have claimed faster, but video or BS.

Fight mechanics:
-Mogdrogen has -130 lightning resist. So you must stack 130 above 88-91%
-He "enrages" at 50%, gaining stormcallers pact, 40% dmg absorb, more dmg, bigger crits. so this is the true test of this fight.
-He summons 3 types of adds, briarthorn, quill spitters, charging pigs. the pigs have a nasty charge, the ranged mobs are spread out. As far as i know all do physical dmg and maybe pierce on the ranged mobs.
-He will also randomly move around so you can't put him in a corner to avoid adds. He cannot really be lifeleeched but adds can.
-he has a ton of DA/OA much much higher than anyboss in the game, so at 2300DA u will still be crit. at high OA u can still miss.
Something else I'd like to add:
-If all you're looking for is Mog's shoulders, he drops those on elite, which is an easier kill.
-Those boars REK. If multiple of them shotgun you with their rush attacks, there goes a massive chunk of your bar if you manage to survive the onslaught at all. So they can kill you as easily as Mog himself can. Don't underestimate the pets! They're not your typical trash mobs, and have amped up stats + buffs from Mog on top of that.
Some of the stuff used in the above video has since been nerfed though, and can't be repeated. You cant life leech mog like that anymore either. And the -resists don't stack as well as they used to. Post nerfs, sab is just a better class all round to solo mog with.
Maybe I should have phrased it better that nobody has a quicker solo kill in the recent version of GD.
Because that's how long it took me for Mog to kill me :P
