thanks for the additional way of looking at things.

excerpt from page - Q: What data does GeForce Experience send to NVIDIA?
A: The application collects data needed to recommend the correct driver update and optimal settings including hardware configuration, operating system, language, installed games, game settings, game usage, game performance, and current driver version. If a user is not signed into an NVIDIA account, this data is not personally identifiable. If a user is signed into an NVIDIA account, the data is personally identifiable. All data collected is protected by NVIDIA's privacy policy.
Q: Does NVIDIA share data collected by GeForce Experience outside the company?
A: NVIDIA may share aggregate-level data with select partners, but does not share user level data. GeForce Experience does not share any personally identifiable information outside the company.
It takes the collected telemetry which includes hardware, OS, drivers, and compiles the data and then pushes the the most popular settings compared to your hardware.
Cant you read anything?
The additional info is for data conscious individuals to inform them that if you log in to the service - data can Identify you personally.....
if you can please inform me as to how nvidia decides which games get geforce experience support it would answer the question. I might have overlooked it as I did not see it explained. still a useful article to read nontheless.
As users launch games with the ge experience loaded - it collects that info. It collects all system specs and all settings you use when you play the game. It then adds to the database with all the statisctics it pulls from EVERYONE who plays any game that Geforce is monitoring.
It then compares your system to the database it has and makes recommended settings based on all users combined, with settings other users who have similar setups as you. There is no person siting behind the scenes choosing which games to examine.
Now there is probabaly a minimum amount of data collected before it starts making recommendations. And since Nvidia is a major GPU vendor, it collects tons of data and then an algorythm will determine when to show this games recommended settings.
Again, it may not work for all users as everyone has different stuff running in background, maybe some HDD need defragged or registries cleaned. Could have many apps open same time etc...
Those are far older games and may not have the settings in the ini files to register in the database that Nvidia uses to makes its recommendations.
There may not be a large enough player base that still plays those games to gather enough info. This is a relatively new program. I think there is a threshhold with how much data is collected before the game is on the list.
According to this list Grim is not on the settings list http://www.geforce.co.uk/geforce-experience/supported-games
I believe its sorta like hueristics on AV products. When the Nvidia engine sees new stuff, it sends in the data for the servers to mull over and establish a baseline for hardware settings.
Go look at the log yourself, there is nothing personal in there at all that violates privacy, its just big data and game telemetry
A program designed to install drivers and manage games and software performance wants to know about your computer and games and software? Bastards. But on a serious note this really makes sense. If people spend 5 hours a day playing LOL on average then it would be a good idea for Nvidia to focus on optimizing that game.
Nvidia's privacy policy mentions these activities. If you use the program you accept the conditions.
