Note that it's not worth adding a few points to a damage skill, you need to go for max or nothing. Also keep in mind that overall best strategy in GD is to only focus on a single damage type, and resist reductions for that.

As others already said it's totally doable - all or nothing, focus on one or max two damage types.
I don't think commando class is gonna work tho because soldier doesn't have any synergy or anything to do with the supported items for stun jacks.

Can it kill everything and is it hardcore proof? Heck no, but it sure is fun as hell to play (who doesn't like flashy objects).
Edit: I'll look at the builds in the posts linked above - the video looks really fun. Playing on veteran I need far less careful building than for ultimate / hardcore. I'm going to aim to max stunjacks as an AoE complement to Soldier skills. As mentioned Flame Touched boosts electrical, and Agonizing Flames gives RR.
Really not optimal, but the straight Warrior archetype in games bores me to tears :)
