Where do I farm Blood of Chthon?

I must killed Salazar more than 30 times on Depraved Sanctuary and he only dropped Blood once! Is there any other place?

ACT 3 has alot. You get plenty of them when you reach Blood Grove.

About that...Just now I cleared the Blood Grove, killed Bolvar in it, found a Chthonic rift gate, killed everything that was in it too (that was about 10 chthonic heroes) and still nothing.

are you by any chance 5 or more levels over the hero mobs your fighting? if so I think they stop dropping them at 5 level gap that might be it maybe?

I am barely 2-3 levels over. Is there a chance for my copy of the game to be bugged? I mean, I have killed a ridiculous number of chthonic heroes and salazar over 30 times and I have only gotten Blood of Chthon once. Does anyone else have this problem?

they are not common really man at least not for me they are not. I would say 1 per 20 kills is not that odd for example. Also if you can find a farm spot that has some Grand tier hero's instead of just the standard hero's they drop them much much more often it seems. I noticed this while farming the Vizier's and the queen / gollus there are 4 grand champions guaranteed to spawn in the nest and I get many more ancient hearts here than anywhere else in the game for example.

I would also if possible try to farm a zone that has monsters higher than you are because that increases the drop rate for sure.

Most efficient way to farm Bloods/Hearts/Matters is to farm Dynamite at the usual places and then farm the Treasure Trove in the Mountain Deeps.

If you want to farm Bloods by killing heroes, there are several that have good chances to drop it. Not necessarily Salazar (I've always been disappointed by his Blood drop rate), but also try, for example, High Priest Rolderathis (Sunken Reliquary) or Zaria, the Carver (Darkvale Gate).

That said, I've been very succesful at getting Bloods from Bolvar, too, so don't give up on him.

I don't know the exact value, but the gap has to be much bigger than five levels before enemies stop dropping these components. For example, visiting Elite difficulty with my level 85 Conjurer, I'm still getting Blood of Ch'thons from a level 74 Bolvar.

Thats good to know I thought it may have been 5 levels as thats when you seem to stop getting xp for boss kills so thought they may be tied together.

Blood Grove - ch'thone rift is the best location, you can farm here to end of the game, because monsters are generated base on your lvl

Firstly on normal the drop rate for them is quite low, secondly it shouldnt matter what one you get (heart/brain/blood) as all 3 can be freely swapped with the ghostly smith later.

I never bother farming them just play the game kill stuff they will drop, salazar doesn't particularly have a higher ratio to drop one than any cthonic boss mob either from what i know
