Farros, the Rotted
How do you kill this guy? He destroys me so easily and can't survive more than 5 seconds when he attacks me.

Are you on your first playthrough? If so, be sure you've spent your skill points and stat points from levelling up and that you've purchased or looted better gear than your starting stuff. Don't be afraid to kite him and chug health potions if your health gets low.

You can pretty much tank anything early game if you chug a health potion. Also look out for area of effect attacks and try to move away from them.If you stand still it will keep hurting you.

Yes first playthrough, I've only played about 1 hour when I saw this guy. All other enemies go down in 2 hits. I use a health potion but that is not enough, there is a cooldown on that too and he does damage way too fast. I can kite a bit but then other enemies come in and then I start getting stuck and that kills me too.

Sounds to me like you haven't been leveling the mastery bar I have NEVER died to farros or any of those three undead with the many attempts I've made at various classes. If all else fails level up a bit more on the earlier enemies for a while then try again. Remember add points to the mastery I typically add 2 to mastery and use 1 point for a skill/spell. Also remember you can get spells on weapons by using component's early on searing ember is a good one to use.

Your either under leveled or lacking mastery levels by sounds of it, my arcanist is about the squishiest you can get and she killed all 3 without issue, unless your playing on veteran of course then it will be more challenging.

If your newish to the genre a general word of advice unless your playing some uber face tank class like a shaman or soldier its generally best to clear out trash mobs before attemtping to take down a champion mob, then you can just kite around and avoid their usually telegraphed attacks.

I really can't understand this. The guy is like 50 times stronger than everyone else. How can I be the only one seeing this?

Maybe he ate his weetabix before coming out to meet you? Not sure what to suggest man if you just stick a searing ember on your weapon and spam the fireball its almost impossible not to kill him before he reaches you.

Yeah i don't have 3 searing embers. I finally got this guy, but basically had to run around and kill everyone else just to level up, increased my lightning to max and even still, took a couple of lives but finally got this guy. Thanks for the tips.

Glad you got him man! The best tip in this thread is defintely make sure you spend a fair amount of your points in your masteries the base stats help you out in far too many ways to ifnore the 2:1 ratio that was mentioned above is great for most builds if you unsure where to start
Red Sep 29, 2016 @ 3:48am
What do you mean by masteries? I've increased physique, cunning, spirit etc with any spare points already.

you mastery points are for you main class that you choose and also from the sub class you choose at level 10. The masery bar runs along the very bottom of your skills and go's from 1- 50 every 5 points in it unlocks new skills etc but every single point you put in the bar increases your base HP, Energy, Phys, Cunning, Spirit etc so it becomes much easier to get the stat points you need to equip better weapons and armour without actually spending your attribute points. This way you can have some stat points saved up for later in the game if you find a great ring for example but it needs 700 spirit and you had spent it all on Phys just so you could equip your weapon.

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying! Yes I didn't even choose a class at all so after selecting Shaman and getting max lightning I actually have a chance now. Killed 2 of those bosses now. Thanks for the tips all :) Such a great game too. I'm pretty new to ARPGs I guess but I'm loving them.
