Diablo 3 vs Grim Dawn Necromancer
Which is more enjoyable to play? Are they nearly the same as far as spellcraft and power? Anyone who has experience in both games, I'd love a compare and contrast the two.

You can't really compare them. These games have different mechanics and progression systems.

Diablo's necromancer has same old dision of skills from Diablo 2 - bone magic, curses and summoning. Grim Dawn's necro has like 1 bone related spell and I think no curses? Diablo 3 has extensive skil system for each class. But Grim Dawn excels in other parts and has much more diverse build variety.

But it's not about skills. It's about the atmosphere. Compare Grim Dawn's golem with witch doctor's golem from Diablo 3. It's like comparing Adams Family with Nosferatu.

Noone here can answer that for you. Except the game testers (and Crate) and unfortunately for you we can't talk about specifics such as that just yet.

About the best you're going to get at this juncture is conjecture from people hip to following the livestreams and threads on the main forum compiling mastery skill info from the livestreams.

Grim Dawn is like Titan Quest 2.0 which in itself was a Diablo 2 clone.

Diablo 3 is like WoWablo.

Depends what genre you like more. Like an actual aRPG? Grim Dawn. Like P2W, endless grind MMOs? WoW.

I have played neither the D3 Necromancer (I'm not stupid enough to buy it) nor have I played the Grim Dawn necromancer. So really it's too soon to ask for one because the expansion hasn't released. And 2nd well my post is contributing nothing :P But this question can't be answered.

TL2 has a Ncromancer build, which seems to work somewhat similarly to what the GD necromancer is rumored to be like. Umm, aside from the somewhat cartoony graphics, that is. Basically, pets galore. You can kite around spamming death rays from a distance while your undead army does the close up fighting. It's pretty OP.

A pack of zombies, two skeletal warriors, two (floating) death skulls and two (airborne) death spores can be seen, in addition to my pet and my necromancer (level 30). More skill ranks would => more and stronger summonings.

Depends on what you like. If you prefer quick and arcade-like games where you do not have to think a lot, go for D3. If you like taking you time and building your character, go for GD.

I have enjoyed D3 a lot (about 600h in it), so there definitely is some fun to be had with it. But keep in mind that the game is actually very boring, even if it is very fast because basically only one or two builds are viable for each character (except Barbarian... he had no viable build last time I checked). In short, D3 is a lot of fun, but once you reach level 70 (max level that you can reach in 2/3 hours), you won't play a lot with your char because it will get very repetitive.

D3 is actually a brainless game which need liternally no brain in building your build and character.
No matter which character they decide to publish, the logistic and following story would be just so repetitive and boring, you max your character to max level, get the core equipments, then the game is over. the most boring thing is that it is the item which decide which is the pathway of your character, you get the core item, you get the end. If you are a really ARPG fun, you will get this point.
D3 is not a sucessor of D2, it is more like a strange wow which takes place in D2 story background, although as a old fun of D2 I do not give a ♥♥♥♥ to this bloody story.

Isn't that with Synergies?

Actually I find necromancer in diablo 3 rather boring. I dont know why. I think he has really unimaginative passive skills. It just doesnt feel I dont know. "Deathly". Reached Greater rift 30 with bad gear, and havent touched him since. Witch doctor on the other hand was really well made. At least thats my opinion. If you wanna flashy good looking game when you can slaughter minions without thinking much and in which you have everything prepared for you, go for Diablo 3. Reason why necro in Grim dawn wont be boring is because you will mix him with another mastery :D probly. Endless possibilites just that.

"Isn't that with Synergies?"

I used a couple of mods, yes. Synergies was the main one, with extra crunchy amd mapworks thrown in to expand the game.

That's a Synergies-only class.

HAHA :D well if you wanna hear something that trumps that..

I had ordered the D3 collector's edition but ofc it was freakign delayed and I would have to see all my friends "play" (sit in the login screen as it turned out) and I would not be able to join them for days. So on top of the collectors edition I bought a standard digital edition just so that I could join my friends in sitting the login screen for 3 days.

And I also bought most other Blizz games collectors editions just to get all the wings in diablo 3..

I also bought a bunch of stuff on the RMAH back then like a 250dollar bow lol which was the best bow in EU back then though :P

Need more stupidity regarding D3 ? oh man the money I wasted, I will never recover.

That may be, but since the various mods are free, and add a great deal to the game, there is no reason not to use them.

In any event, the snapshot was simply to illustrate how the TL2 Necromancer class worked, since it looks like it has some similarities to the rumored skills of the planned GD Necromancer Mastery, i.e., lots of "pets".

There are like three necro mods for GD already! Two included in the awesome DAIL compilation.
