Stonerend Quarry
OK, how the heck do you get there? My Aether damage resistance is no good against ground Aetherfire. I managed to get the cannons from the Conflagration because there were small safe zones I could duck into on the way, but it doesn't seem like there is any such thing en-route to the quarry.

The map is misleading; there is a small wooden shack which superficially looks like it's clear, but it isn't. I ducked into it and promptly died. The fire is intense enough that I lost 6000 health in a few seconds. I didn't even bother trying to go back to retrieve the grave marker.

Buff damage absorption and life reduction resistance[www.grimtools.com]. The latter can only be accomplished a couple ways that I know of (linked) , so work on the former. Aether clusters (not to be confused with aether shards or crystals) work especially well.

The shack is safe. I stop there just fine.

I just ran through it bit by bit taking my time and killing stuff in the clear ares alltho they are few. but just keep running, healing and killing.

You must have at least 80%+ resists for that quarry. horrible place. :)

There is several safe places to get to, where you will not get damage. And mind drop your portal down in a safe place :)

Made it through the quarry just fine with almost no aether resistance. It just requires keeping a keen eye on where you're standing. There are plenty of safe spots and fallback points. I recommend having a reliable ranged offensive option, make a Squall relic if you want an AOE to soften targets with a storm spell.

I does LOOK safe, but I tried entering it again after reading this, and it definitely doesn't work for me.

The spot is completely safe. I'm standing in it now. Zero damage being taken. Not sure why you'd be having an issue unless you are standing in a spot there where the nearby crystal formations can still zap you periodically.

If you are playing with any mods, could be an issue with those.

Yeah that ground damage is no joke. As it does % of life, even 20,000+ health doesn't really help. Only damage absorption (less damage) and run speed (less time) help and are easier to get.

The shack is generally safe... unless one of the mobs there drops a lingering ground effect, try standing closer to the door frame.

It is easyer than conflagration.
Go from blood groove to the place with aether crystals before the bridge to portal. Clear them and when ready move to the platform near the door. Wait for heal couldowns and run to the building nearby, there you can go down from the balcony and follow safe patch to the end of the area if you choose so.

Ressistance does not decrease floor damage so just get healing of couldown and movement speed if possible. "Teleporting" skills help avoid alot of damage as well.

Hmm. I've never needed to do anything special regarding resists to go thru (and) clear Stonerend. Simply kill any Aether Crystals in the beginning area, make sure I'm healed and have a pot ready to go, run up to the shack, kill any nearby Crystals if needed and heal and make sure I have a pot ready to go and carry on.

It's all simple work really. The shack is safe.. likely you were still taking damage from a nearby crystal when your health was already low. Neutralize those threats first.

I've never understood people having trouble with aether ground... I've never had trouble with it except maybe some spots of Port Valbury and that big area of aether in deadman's gulch can give a little challenge

What build are you running to have over 20K HP? Don't think I ever saw even the tankiest build reach 15K HP.

doesn't matter how much max health and how much aether resist you have. movement speed helps. probaby the most useful stat for those annoying ground damage zones.

Probably warder. Pretty hard to get 20k unbuffed with anything else. Unless you ignore other stats.
Crusible buff adds about 5k+ so with it you can get 20k with many builds.

Seen a bunch of hackers in crusible having 20k hp on an arcanyst build or whatever. (Unbuffed and they had 4k oa while at it)

I've played around with a few retaliation set-ups (in grimtools; my time isn't unlimited) for warders, witchblades, blademasters, and commandos. They're all pretty easy to get to 15k hp. 20k isn't much more difficult but that usually involves a sacrifice. I stumbled across some combination of gear & devotions for a Warder that hit 24k+ though it wouldn't have been the most effective by then - IIRC it ended up with way too much DA among other problems.
