I only have one char at 100, but that was my first character from early access. I only played coop for a while, so my goals were different. I've specc'd out from sword and board tank using, Ring of Steel and War Cry for CC, into an Alkamos Scythe blademaster. In the mean time, I've found some really good MIs and legendaries that I can use for new builds (got a Superior Troll Bonecrusher of Ruin yesterday, so I might roll a phys warder soon). So, it's kind of like it is in every Diablo-like ARPG. Smash mobs for loot.
If you want to get into the late game, I highly recommend using GD Stash. Managing your inventory across different toons gets to be a big hassle.
I only have AOM dlc.
I have GD stash, I tinkered with it, it shows my shared stash, can't figure out how to link personal stashes. I don't want to screw things up and end up deleting my items or something.
I really need it. I gave up on trying to control my inventory of items. Now I just compare when I get a dupe of an epic or legendary and sometimes dismantle the weaker version. I'm to the point now where I have characters created just to store items lol
Many plays through by now, I have some very powerful versions of the level 14+ epics
Very rarely get a legendary dupe as my highest character is 86.
He's the farming character with AAR fire-hose eliminator, but it's true, even at such a high level with some skills maxed out, some monsters still one hit me on Ultimate.
use the loot you get and fiddle with your build + start thinking of future characters to gear. push the limits of your existing build and see what you can get done in endgame content. most build will not, even with heavy optimization, be able to kill all the celestials, but killing lokkar at least is super doable and will get you things that will be very helpful for powerleveling future characters.
To transfer items back you have to do a "search" to find the items in the database first. It can be all items, or you can narrow it down to exactly what you want.
I tried that I believe. It couldn't find the stash file in my save directory. Going to try again.
Where does it transfer everything? To a virtual stash in GDstash?
Would be nice to put some dupes up for trade and such - I'm assuming there's filter options and show duplicates
I think I'm done dismantling you never really get anything good - occassionaly an Eldritch essence or something maybe. I do it with both Epics and Legendaries
Might need to get help from the source on the first part, I'm not well versed in troubleshooting this program. Crate forums might be a better place for that (unless someone else here knows).
It transfers everything to a database that is stored on your computer. So yeah, essentially a virtual stash.
I'm not sure if it's possible to filter by duplicates, but they are easy to see when you do search, as it show everything in alphabetical order. And there are other filters, like filter by item type, damage type, damage conversion, etc.
Okay working now
Just took some tinkering thanks
Basically I just want to see everything I have in one area across all characters. Do you know how to do that?
There are two downsides though that I have noticed with such a method. One is that all portals are unlocked from the start (no idea if leaping far ahead will do anything to the game) and you will unlock additional skill and attribute points which may or may not be considered cheating. I admit I am doing this as I enjoy the campaign but do not want to start a new character.
2. The number of skill points, it is not clear why, is very limited. They are not enough even for one profession to pump normally ... but in the solo there are absolute, with all the secret tasks, sets of signs ... What is it for!???
3. Well, for 90 hours of the game, I didn’t knock out the gear I needed for 1 character - IT IS ALREADY NEEDED TO CHANGE FOR A LONG TIME!!!
In general, the game is head and shoulders above all other participants ... Here I have listed the main 3 problems of this wonderful game, which are on the lips of EVERYONE absolutely ...
Give us the opportunity to use this game at 100%, you hooked us up yourself, you are responsible for us! ))))
With best Regards taz4
Personally I don't get level caps either. Just keep scaling the monsters up. Maybe start giving 1 skill point every 3 levels and make leveling much harder
Anyone ever use the "totally normal" items?
Everyone? Nah, I don't share those complaints at all.
I have plenty of incentive to play after 100. Characters are most fun to play at the end game (94+), and grinding out loot to eek out tiny benefits is part of the DRAW of this kind of game. As well, some people enjoy the challenge of going up against super bosses, and hardcore can throw in an extra challenge, if you like that kind of thing.
The limited number of skill points force you to make choices that are crucial to how your build plays. If you want every skill available and maxed, well, look at Diablo 3. I like Diablo 3, but it gets boring pretty quickly. Not to mention that respeccing is painless, and virtually free. that makes it very easy to pivot builds.
As far as grinding gear, it's much easier now than it was. As long as you have a decent build (which doesn't take insane drops, and can be done with MIs and / or faction gear), then you should be able to farm fairly quickly.
Seems they don't
Thanks
As far as Diablo 3 I played through it once. It doesn't exist to me anymore, Grim Dawn is Diablo 3 to me in spirit.
Then there's the Diablo 2 redux. Anyone tried it? Just polished graphics or
Diablo 3 is fun if you do the seasonal content. Still gets old quick, and the campaign sucks.
I have Diablo 2 Resurrected. They are doing balance patches, QOL stuff*, and seasonal rewards like new Runewords. Might be other new content as well, not sure. I haven't played it much yet.
*Most notably for me: you can cast skills by pressing the hotkey, rather than clicking the hotkey, then having to right click to cast.
