Farm Normal/Vet or move to Elite?

i just finished the game in the first mode and got all the shrine.
Now i wonder if there is a reason or something that i could miss if i go to Elite?
And will i keep my progress (on both difficulty) if i switch to Elite then go back to Normal/Vet if is the case?

EDIT: not sure if it makes any difference, but i dont own any DLC except Crucible.

Well, you can start by buing them. Not because they are essential, but because they are that good.
As for farming, there is no reason to farm on vet. Well, almost, but dont worry about that. You can switch at any time, difficulties have separate progress. One thing that will change is faction choises, so be carefull with that.
Also, i think farming in general pointless without Ashes at least, because of higher level cap, meaning all gear you farm will be kinda obsolete.

After spending the last 3 days playing endlessy GD i'm 100% sure as soon i can afford them ill get them. If i could pick only one (between Ashes and FG) Ashes is "better" for the level cap increase?

The rewards are greater as you move up in difficulty.

the game is so much more exciting and fun once you have all the add ons and move to elite. once that is done you arrive at the real game once you start ultimate .

There are secret areas, secret questlines and optional bosses you might have missed. They are entirely optional for most builds.

Pretty sure i did miss some, i did explore everything and did every quests i did found (except bounties) but ill focus on doing 100% (or as close as i can) once i reach ultimate. I was more worried that i could miss something that would be blocked once i switch to elite, but the game allows to switch back and forth easily without losing progress so it wasnt a problem :)

"Too late" xD did end up getting both DLC yesterday lol, getting close to Ultimate rn, after i'll explore them carefully
