Game Mechanics question *Damage Conversion*
If a skill does fire damage + burn damage (fire's DoT counterpart) and I have a skill modifier converting 100% fire damage to cold, for example. Does the former damage type's DoT get changed to frostburn as well?

Also lets say the skill has one other synergy on its skill tree line which does only this: + 50% fire damage, +50% burn damage. would that synergy be wasted if i took the transmuter converting all damage to cold? Or would the skill benefit from the synergy *and then* be converted to cold?

The skill i mentioned above is a hypothetical, i made it up for my question to get a more clear insight into how some game mechanics work. ty

Yes, the DoT gets converted as well.
Damage modifiers within the skill line arent wasted. However +% damage from non-skill sources will be wasted.

DoT's convert if you're converting to a damage type with a DoT component. Aether, Chaos, and Pierce don't have DoT equivalents, so any DoT element will be lost if converting to those. You can convert between Physical (Internal Trauma), Fire (Burn), Lightning (Electrocute), Cold (Frostburn), Acid (Poison), and Vitality (Vitality Decay) without losing anything.

I'm not sure if there are any conversions to or from Bleeding, but it would only be converting the DoT.
