Has anyone had one piece of this drop? I am in over 400 hours and have zero. Is the RNG this serious or should I just try my luck gambling at the special smith? Just curious. Love the game regardless.

I had one or 2, it doesnt really matter. 400 hours is really not that much, i am over 1000 and have barely any completed sets.
It also higly dependant on where you play, Ultimate has really good drop retes esspesially if you can farm SR, but if you are constantly on new chars in normal/elite you will barely get anything.
So if you want it, you better start farming dat SR, boi. Also, celestial smith is kinda a waste of resouses.

And how long your game sessions are. Helps a lot to have the game start rerolling to avoid duplicate drops of the more common legendaries.

You should also consider posting in the Trading thread for anything you are looking for. Many players have duplicates they are willing to part with in return for another item, or rare materials (e.g. Ugdenbloom).

Well, I have 2 - Pendant & Armor. More then 600 hours in.
Farming sets in GD is... tricky. Some sets are dropping more offten. A lot of duplicates. But you can exchange duplicates for missing parts right in the game.
Assembling epic sets is relatively easy. Legendary not so much.
At this point i have like... 5 i think full legendary sets & a dozen of epics.
I personally do not recommend special smiths, they never did any good to me.

I did get a Wildblood Crusher from one. Nothing more so far.

if you own forgotten gods you can craft an entire set if you have the recipe for 1 of its parts, ex helm
and even if you don't have the recipe you can swap duplicates into the other pieces
all done at the inventor and transmute option
^this means farming recipes is a fairly good method of getting an entire set, tho ofc farming recipes also has a fair amount of RNG involved

and ofc any and all farming should be done on Ultimate, and preferably in SR if capable, but isn't your only avenue of farming/recipes, Nemesis Troves, shrines, and i'm told Monster Totems too (tho my own monster totem luck has been fairly poor)

I have about 4 sets worth of it, I actually just break it down these days when I find pieces of it.

Once you start running roguelikes, doing SR or Crucible and killing Nemesis mobs on ultimate you will find legendary items so fast you'll have trouble storing them all. As an example a 10 minute ish run on SR at lvl 65 to 66 will net around 10 or more legendary items, various rare ingredients and crap tons of MI's
