Widow's Sting question
I'm looking at this item and wondering how +2 to Ranged Expertise on an item that converts pierce to acid would ever be a thing.
Sorry if random, I am merely sharing my amusement.

Whats the problem with that? It doesnt convert 100%, and if it did, Expertise still gives Attack speed, also very valueable stat. Its may be a bit odd, but nothing that bad.

Maybe the intended use case is a Inquisitor/Nightblade built on acid damage? Or Inquisitor/Oathkeeper using the element swap on the auto attack enhancement? There's enough support for a few acid focused setups that could use it. Niche, but not worthless. Which doesn't make it any use to you if your not trying that of course. But that's me talking about the piles of Shaman gear that keeps showing up for some reason.:raven:
GD tries to spread bonuses around so you can make more than 1 approach for a build/mastery, while still being viable/helpful.
They deliberately didn't want to lock out into the usual of each character have 1-3 "meta" builds only to pick from. But instead more and possibly "weird" stat spreads to allow more diversity and not be boring in terms of avail variety that can still work fine or great

There's a lot of items with + to 3 skills from 3 masteries, and realizing the idea behind that design was 'make it viable to more masteries' explained that to me.:raven:
the great thing (imo) about the +3 different skills/masteries on items, is that GD allows some really really "stupid" builds to be made, builds that in traditional ARPGs sense wouldn't stand a chance because it "meta or nothing".
^and that it being on "leveling items" too means you can do exactly those absurd things while leveling when you get bored of the traditional/"efficient" leveling too, which is awesome, and i think the big MI update was one of the best things to hit GD

Pretty much all my builds are jank like that. My first build to kill Ravager was built around a component skill, so memeing is standard, but even given that, I'd like to see the acid build that uses Ranged Expertise. xD

you mean any ranged build that wants +speed, that is vital, or has conversion?, that type of thing https://www.grimtools.com/db/search?query=elemental%20damage%20converted%20to%20acid&in_description=1&exact_match=0 https://www.grimtools.com/db/search?query=piercing%20damage%20converted%20to%20acid&in_description=1&exact_match=0

None of those items supports Inquisitor skills for a reason, and even though there probably are items that support it in some way, I just don't see what incentive there is to ever play Acid damage and pick Inq as a class or vice versa.
Anyway, my OP was just to share my amusement, not to debate.

wasn't about debating, just highlighting
and several of those items do support inq skills ;) - but as with anything "meme" it's about being creative and accepting a few onesided slots

It could be to also help support Radaggan's Folly set in some kind of Acid range build setup using Inquisitor; hence why the ring has a bit for both Occultist and Nightblade.
