teleport minions to my position
is there a mechanic or a spell, skill, anything that lets me teleport my minons to my position?

auto catchup, keep walking and they auto teleport when out of range
otherwise you pet command to tell them where to go if they wander off

not the answer i was hoping for
but thanks for telling me

I have two pets on my build a Crow and Hellhound. Like the other person said they will usually auto teleport to keep up, but I keep a quick slot for each one and you can press the button again to have them respawn near you. There is a short cool down but the pets usually live longer than the cool down. I also set the hellhound to be agressive and the Bird to be less agressive. That seems to work for me.

you get movement skills in the Forgotten Expansion in the last act

when you teleport or leap, minions usually reappear right on top of you at max range

similar to Enigma Blink

nah, i tried it . "usually" is really not enough

i played summoners in D2
in POE
and in D3

in all 3 you can command teleport your minions
its really baffling to me how Grim Dawn does not have this

i did an entire playthrough as skelly necro but i cannot get used to not havin command teleport

What for? They have very limited range, anyway. so they are almost glued to you, so i dont really see how that would be helpfull, considering they almost always on you anyway.

for running around at 135% movement speed and going directly into mobs
for going around a corner at full damage capacity
for teleporting on to top of a boss
for general positioning for full damage potential at all times
for my enjoyment

"not helpfull" - i dont know how you play the game but when i play as summoner my minions are most certainly not "on me all the time"

then you are remembering wrong, you could not command tp your pets in D2
that was a by product of enigma, not an actual pet feature/command
and pet catchup in GD is more than enough, no idea wth you are running around doing where you have issues with your pets being with you

use the freaking pet command button

so tell me, what do you do with enigma?
thats right you teleport and your minons with you
it also works with teleport from staves
in fact its one of the first things you do as a summon nerco
you get the teleport skill

same concept in D3, except necros have inherent teleport skill now

and in poe you have a spell thats called convocation
what does it do?
it teleports your minons to you

those 3 games couldnt be further from each other conceptually and they all have this feature in one way or another
but please, keep on telling me how i am wrong and its a useless feature

... or let me ask you this:
when minions are teleporting "randomly" already anyway
why not give me a button to do it on command?
like whats your point, beside being defensive about a game you like?

and btw i have a level 94 cabalist summoner, i have used that stupid "pet command button" more than enough - i have tried alright?
for me its bad enough to not play my favorite archtype in isometric arpgs, so your "it doesnt bother me" argument triggers me on a personal level

You might try to play around with your pets stances to see if that helps you achieve what you're looking for. Also like has been said before you can use the pet attack to control who your pets fight...and if you're a hybrid it might be more of an issue of focus to get your character optimized so it works the way you want it to.

personally i couldn't give a rats beehind what triggers you or not
you are whining about something that pretty much everyone else that plays a pet build have figured out
you are not supposed to play pets in GD like you do in d2
you are not supposed to TP into a boss and have your pets appear with you and zerk the boss
you are supposed to use the pet command to control them and manoeuvre them in front of you
you are not supposed to be part of the battle or action, and the pet command is used to tell your pets where to go and attack the target you wish - not because a game lacks an actual pet feature and relies on a secondary (unintended) mechanic to cheese things
learn to pet, the fact you have a problem with the minimal range of catchup in the game suggest you have a whining problem more than a mechanic problem
people have informed you how things work in gd and how to deal with them, so learn and deal with it
Drukaris Aug 1, 2021 @ 6:24am
oh so now you speak on behalf of the developer?

i presented an agrument for an improvement, which wouldnt even affect people who dont wanna use it negatively

all you have is an opinion
and all you have is whiny tears
give your pets more speed
use a movement rune
order them in front of you
the frickin auto catchup distance is so small it's literally a non issue that you can temporarily outrun pets with low bonus speed
it takes nothing for them to catch up either manually or through catchup tp
resummon them if need be
the mechanics are already there, you just refuse to utilize them because you treat GD/pet approach like it's another game it isn't
games are different
Drukaris Aug 1, 2021 @ 6:37am
yeah, games are different ... and so are people

i literally did all of the things you suggest and i still miss my command teleport

so i ask again, what would you lose if this feature was in the game?

pet builds would be unbelievably more broken
there is a reason you have a pet command button, not a tp command, and that movement skills have cooldown
devs obviously didn't want lazy tp cheese and instead actual pet control/manoeuvring, just like for player chars
pet tp is as lazy and cheese as it gets, the fact you cant see might be indicative of your playstyle
just tp pets out of danger, zooming them around inc attacks etc, it's probably the same reason the game doesn't have active dodge; it's not intended for that type of combat and not balanced around it
move your pets, manually, as intended, if you don't wish to be lazy and just have to them auto run
the fact we even have a dedicated lazy pet control builder/guides, should tell you what you whining about is a non issue, pets have no trouble catching up and doing what they should; you just have a completely different expectation of the style because you treat it like it's "1genre approach" and a game it isn't
