then try move your pet, and maybe you should avoid that fight if you can't defeat it yet.
Maybe you are trying him too low level or without the ideal gear, or without strong resist reduction skills.
Pet builds can take him down pretty fast from my experience if you are using the higher level faction pet gear along with some select MI item drops and a bit of epic or legendary.
But he is a Nemesis so no guarantee a build should be able to tackle them comfortably, unlike main story content.
It's not so much about tackling him comfortably because my pets and I don't take much damage, the trouble is the fact that the fight just doesn't end.
Hopefully next time I meet him, he won't be close to that friendly gargoyle npc (who won't die because I'm trying to keep eye of dreeg up for damage and it heals him) and I can move him around a bit.
it's already been said how to handle it; up your dmg, and/or move Kaisan out of range of the crystals quickly, it's doesn't change with/without the bysmiel npc, that's what you have to do to handle him
Amazed no-one has suggested that there should be a fixed point for 1st encounter and once killed then becomes random, with this applying to all Nemesis, or at least a few logical places with a much higher chance to spawn at.
Kinda pain to kill them all on a single character otherwise.
And to emphasise your point, on GoG less have managed to kill Kaisan on any difficulty (so includes Elite) than doing L25 Ultimate SR/kill Morgoneth on Ultimate amongst other challenges.
Primary reason IMO is because no-one can freaking find the lazy $£%£$% with his zillion timeshare places he owns in Korvan Basin :)
More seriously though I bet the stats here will also show a lower % completing killing Kaison on any difficulty compared to those that completed SR25 Ultimate/Morgoneth on Ultimate/killing 10 Nemesis/etc, just like GoG.
And tbh if one can do those one can comfortably kill Kaison on any difficulty, especially Elite.
The difficulty challenge is finding him :)
as an ex, just as a proof of concept i made a 100% vendor geared char that beat SR 50, provided the boss combo wasn't sucky (and ignoring Nems during chunks) - that same character stood no chance at beating Kaisan in the basin because of his ridiculous phys resist etc - it was a 2h phys FW build
In my context I am talking about defeating Kaisan on Elite with the other stuff on Ultimate; the achievement is possible on Elite looking at the list.
Your SR50 with vendor gear was on Ultimate?
I guess it comes down to class and that is at both extremes/outliers of our contexts.
Edit:
And worth noting much less play Ultimate compared to Elite on GoG (probably same here) when it comes to the Nemesis achievements.
So those Ultimate achievements have even more weight when they are beating Elite ones statistically.
and aye Elite Kaisan/nem status is definitely obtainable, but i'm guessing at that point people either aren't thinking of "going back" for an achievment, or are at a lvl stage where they struggle with him more. i still think SR25 can be a cakewalk compared, don't think i have a single toon that's not done the quest for the points, but i have several i don't want to run into Kaisan on/steer clear
Slay 10 Nemesis (Elite or Ultimate) completed 3.3%
Slay Kaisan (Elite) completed 0.7%.
