Hey i think i remember this one! It was kind of a Japanese samurai diablo 1 right? Only more advanced? I never played it.
GD has a Diablo 2 mod?? :D Need to try that! Is it in the Workshop or do i need to download it somewhere? NVM I'l google it, i'll find it, have to try that haha!
Exactly! I don't mind turn based combat at all, i play Divinity, and since Larian made BG3 it was to be expected for them to just make BG3 on Divinity's engine for simplicity, but i still wished they'd kept the same realtime with pause. Yes it's technically turn based but it has a completely different feel to it.

Saved you some time.
I found it while searching it was the first search result.
Sadly, i need both DLC's to play it, so it'll wait til i get the DLCs for GD.
But it's totally neat someone's doing a Diablo 2 mod in GD!
Due to the way GD works, there is no Procedurally Generated Mapping, but the entrances do shift from spot to spot per new game.
Add the GrimCam and No Fog and you got a very special upgrade to D2
Once i get some disposable income and i don't have to be like responsible and ♥♥♥♥, it'll definitely get the DG DLC's, i've been wanting to anyway. Then i'll play the mod. :)
Personally I love all the different min-max builds and Devotions even though they can be quite overwhelming at times.
But one thing that I absolutely hate about GD is the amount of Epic and Legendary items. While, yes, it does add more depth and options for builds it is a pain in the ass to farm singular Legendary items let alone full sets. Sure, there is the option to reroll set items but you need at least 2 same items from the set. It's a huge gamble. I don't really want to start certain builds/characters just because I am missing the Legendary items that are needed for the builds.
Despite that one big flaw GD is the best. Hands down my favorite ARPG to date.
D3 was such a sugar rush compared to plenty of other ARPGS. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but D3 lacked the depth. I really liked the Monk class in D3 though. Extremely fun builds can be built for that class. I think I have a build that can survive and kill in Torment 14. Still missing some gems to upgrade my gear. Maybe I should boot D3 someday again...
Not mad at all, just pointing out that some of us prefer the slower pace that GD has. Plenty of people enjoy PoE's speed while others don't. And also plenty of people enjoy both games equally.
And yes. I'm WAY past 20 characters in GD over the years (currently have 92 including several in the Grimarillion mod) and I still play through all 3 difficulties rather than speed level them. And I still find myself stopping to admire the scenery from time to time.
as mentioned Medea said you can speed level in this, heck i'm pretty sure you can shave it down to 4-6hours the "efficient" way - and yet i take my sweetass time spending 20-24hours on leveling a character, doing everything on Veteran+Ultimate and enjoying it completely as i go through it all
in fact when i get to 100/clear Ultimate i stop and start a new, doing the roguelike dungeons once, killing couple nemesis and Lokar + a round of SR50+ is all i do usually before retiring the toon
One of perspective.
Players can do a fresh (no blueprints/etc) Hardcore start to Ultimate SR50 in under 13hours; that means doing all 3 difficulties plus grinding through the SR (for the contest was allowed Normal and then need to do SR50 on Ultimate).
Grimdawn has spoiled me
