since instanced gives each player their own loot it becomes more "per player", and you can then "drop" items you dont' want for your partner to see/pick up
i'm not exactly sure on the precise scaling but it's pretty basic, something like 20% hp and something per player joined. Basically the game doesn't scale exactly to the extra addition of a "full" player char added to the mix, so MP is generally regarded as being a little easier than SP - this however does also allow you to mess around a little bit more ;)
The main "restriction" i think comes in player interaction with quests, everyone gotta follow the same beat and be on the same page or things start to hitch and you have to do a quick SP to catch up potentially. Stuff like choosing faction side needs to be same choices among all players or it gets real screwy with some quests not being able to interact/attack the faction "enemy".
But it's pretty simple, i try to follow a "host does everything"approach. So the only quest/npc interaction i do is for the few quest that doesn't have communal hand ins. (and ofc vendors etc)
overall i like the coop, it definitely has it's quirks, some worse than others i'm told(YMMV), but as long as the players are on the same page/mindset of what to do/enjoy it's really fairly decent. (+i'm the kind that kinda likes the bonus stomp boost you get from stacking multiple dmg/buffs from multiple characters at once
As far as downsides go, sometimes it takes forever to connect, sometimes it cannot connect, occasional crashes, and rarely lost treasure. Those issues don't happen very often though. I wanted to mention some other things though! I would each make a character, keep them in sync and only play them when together. I made that mistake once and they got a little upset (a lot upset) because I got overpowered (oops). Also when reading notes, only read them when you two are close to each other so you both get the experience, same goes for when you kill a boss, if someone is dead or far enough away then loot may not drop for them...(as well as not getting the experience).
Beyond that, most things are fine in coop.
I played daiblo 3 for years. I cant/wont go back. Any other suggestions?
if you using Lan i think you get better experience in coop.
Thanks everyone!
