Game on veteran dificulty unplayable for new characters after patch. Way too hard...
I like challenges in games and interesting fights, but this is absurd. Running 5 minutes around, drinking potions during fight elite/mini boss is just stupid and frustrating. Also many enemies for endgame characters are too strong. Specially bosses, my 100level puryfier cant kill bug quen in nest with over 30k dps and 12k of hp..... she hits me 3 times and im dead. I would expect rather nerf of dificulty, but You pushed it even higher. Game is no fun right now, drop is terrible, completly not rewarding. I play 2h ranged and 99% of my drop are magical items for wizard classes, 1h weapons and 2h maces.... I really like game (over 400hours right now), im huge fan of ARPG since many years, but this is way too much... It reminds me unbalanced Diablo3 from begining.

I was thinking, and the whole issue here is that the difference between Normal and Veteran is just too damn big. Normal is far too easy for experienced players yet Veteran's difficulty is just absurd. Even with maxed resistances, in my last Veteran Hardcore run with this update version I was taking huge damage from regular mobs. There was also an awful lot of camping at entrances, making certain areas plain inaccessible for many levels. The gap between the 2 starting difficulties is really just too big. Many players are left in the awkward space between FAR too easy and tediously difficult. Also not realistic to get resistances up high enough in the early game as the RNG is more often than not insufficient. It's not all about resistances either, as of course there are more stats required. No use having a 20 armour piece with 20% resistance when you're level 15. Recipe for disaster. All stats must be balanced and up-to-level, of course. Anyway I don't know the exact numbers of Normal vs. Veteran but as it stands now like I said the difference is TOO BIG.

You may find Normal more to your liking then.

It is more in line with what Veteran used to be and Veteran is now a proper challenge, as it was always intended to be.

+1

For a long time you need to increase the complexity of the game!
make it possible to play alone over the network so that the game thinks that 4 players are playing!

Well... 30k dps is kind of low for level 100(and 12k health is on the low end of the spectrum too), so that shouldnt come as a surprise. You should have double of that DPS. I mean certain builds have single abilities(like Albrecht's Aether Ray) that deals 100k DPS.
Rethink your build, items or devotions and you should do ok.

I believe we now have to always use components and augments in every pieces of gear we wear even if they are self-found trash.

Also maybe the need to re-log multiple times to clear the same areas in order to get the lvls and stuff you need to stop dying too much in the next area.

I am playing a lvl 85 character with 26k DPS, I made it to the final dungeon on Elite and boom! Update! Now I have to run around 15 (fifteen!) minutes kiting Bloodlord Thalonis and his summons and if I accidentally die (which I do and what makes me writing this) he is restored to FULL! FULL! That's just ridiculous. There's no room for significant improvement with my char being at max level, half-equiped in legendary and invested all skill points into DPS. And I still need to hit a single bloodletter around 50(fifty) times to kill that damn thing. I just can't kill that Thalonis faster with all his summons and he two-shots me even though I have 80% chaos/aether and 66% blood res! One mistake and I have to start over kiting him again for another 15 minutes. I had problems with some heroes on Elite but it was managable. This change is just outright lame. Devs just forgot that not everyone owns an expansion and can climb up to 100. The game has become tiresome and tedious instead of just medium-hard and fun.

the patch is great. veteran is now challenging, not a beautiful weather ride through the green anymore.

Not to boast but I'm finding it quite easy using shaman and just kiting enemies.

I actually like the changes made to veteran difficulty, for the most part. The biggest problem I have is that the vast majority of enemies are still bullet sponges. Taking extra damage and having a use for potions isn't a bad thing, but why does literally every enemy have to have so much HP? There's basically no difference between playing as a DPS character and a tank at this point. You're always taking massive damage and you're never doing enough damage to progress quickly. Every boss (that can still be beaten) takes at least 3 extra minutes now.

It's incomprehensible why to change existing difficulties at all. Just add another one, "Legendary", "Torment" or whatever just like Diablo III did. Drop extra-cool items there, invent something to make people WANT play that thing. Not force them. And everyone will be happy. This patch just ruins game experience for those who liked the game as it was.

They would have to increase lvl cap. We reach capped at the first act of Ultimate if you own DLCs.

Redoing the whole game without XP benefits would get boring real fast. Thats my opinion of course.
