Grim Dawn's huge free feature update is now live, which marks a significant step forward in the game’s evolution. The v1.1.4.0 update includes major improvements to the game engine which not only means significant performance gains but also enhanced skill effects and dynamic lights that really make the combat come to life.

The patch comes packed with quality of life improvements players have been asking for, including monster health bars, search functions for items and auto-looting for materials and consumables.

We are thrilled to get this update into players’ hands. It has been a labor of love that puts Grim Dawn at the best it’s ever been!

[Crucible]

• Updated spawn distribution for several waves above 151+
  
• Updated monster Threat generation to hopefully reduce behavior of remaining within spawn areas.
  
• Reduced the effectiveness of Fabius' Veil of Shadows in the Crucible

[Major New Features]

• Loyalty pays off! Owners of the Loyalist Item Pack #2 should speak to Lancel the Knight to embrace a darker form of wizardry...
  
• Vendors now feature a Search Bar, which will highlight their wares based on your parameters.
  
• The Smuggler UI has been updated with more clear visual distinctions between the Personal and Shared Stashes.
  
• In addition, for owners of Ashes of Malmouth, a new button has been added to the Smuggler which automatically transfers all Components from your inventory into your currently open Stash page and combines them with any existing stacks.

• Reduced Monster Health and Damage on Normal Difficulty.

• Reduced Resistances at low levels for Zombies with exceptionally high resists (ex. Rotting Emberguards). These enemies are highly resistant to particular damage types, which can be difficult to counter at the start of the game.
  
• Monsters, in particular Bosses, are no longer highly resistant to Energy Leech effects.
  
• Components that come from crafting can no longer drop from any source (ex. quest rewards or bounties). In addition, any Partial Components left over from the v1.1.4.0 changes which can no longer be completed (as no partial drops exist) have automatically been upgraded to Complete Components.

[Deferred Rendering]
With this patch, you can now toggle Deferred Rendering under the Video Options.

Deferred Rendering utilizes additional graphics memory to reduce total draw calls per frame by around 30% or more. This should result in a decent performance increase, especially at high video settings. Complex scenes, such as Devil’s Crossing and parts of Fort Ikon, should see the largest gains.

With Deferred Rendering also come additional video setting levels: Very High for Reflections and Particles. With Particles set to Very High, you can enjoy awesome lighting effects on various spells and abilities that will make combat at night and in undergrounds especially dynamic!

*Note: Deferred Renderring does require DirectX 11, so if you are running DirectX 9, you will not be able to toggle this setting. Deferred Rendering also uses FXAA Anti-Aliasing, so that option becomes a toggle rather than a drop-down when the new renderer is enabled.*

[Update to Game Difficulty]
With this patch, the base game has received a substantial balancing overhaul of Normal/Veteran and Elite difficulties, over 1800 database records in all!

We felt that, over time, the base game's difficulty has waned significantly relative to the power growth of player characters, and even compared to the Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods expansions.

We've narrowed the gap between the expansion content and the base game content, meaning that the lower levels should feel more exhilarating to play and the jump between difficulties will be much smoother.

Does this mean the endgame has gotten more difficult? Well, yes and no. No because we focused balancing on the early game (roughly levels 1-60), but yes because we've updated old monster and boss encounters to deal damage in line with expansion enemies. All in all, the challenge should feel more consistent!


[Major New Features]

• Auto-Loot for Components, Consumables and Crafting Materials is now available! Simply toggle the option in in the Game Options!
  
• Partial Components that are looted are now automatically merged with other Partial Components in your inventory.
  
• Monster Health Bars are now available! To enable them, open the Game Options menu and select your desired settings under the HUD tab.
  
• Monster HUD has been overhauled with updated visuals.
  
• Game Options menu has been updated with a new tab. The General tab has been split into Gameplay and Interface for better organization, and also cause General was ready to explode with options.

Furies are a pain because they steal life from you to boost their own. Try an AoE attack or use a gun/crossbow and attack them from afar, kiting if necessary. They can only steal from you if they can touch you.

thanks for this, i make sure to abuse the power you give it.

-Ritualist skeleton become almost immune to physical attack if using lost soul set.
-Spellscorched Plating are now much usefull to cover a build that having less pierce resist.
-Bloodied Crystal are more good for a class that having less armor like caster.
-There are mass murderer in normal difficulty shattered realm.
-Make sure saying hi to Kilrian's each game session, because he always have a chance to drop Kilrian's Shattered Soul in each difficult or level, because only rare material(purple one) that not drop if has gap in diffrent level (been tested with my level 100 character in elite).
-if you don't know that reap spirit wraith are actualy invincible pet that gain aggro from enemy and blocking all projectile from enemy, unlike filthy guardian of empyrion that not tanking damage for you. check it stat: https://www.grimtools.com/petdb/skill/3673
