I'm So confused over something like 100% Fire damage convert to Chaos.
I don't know why I could not find anyone asking this question.

I know if i'm using something like.... Two 1 handed 120% fire damage weapons, This will convert this 100% fire to chaos up to 240% over to Chaos damage but lets say i have a chest piece and helmet that has 25% Chaos damage but not Fire damage?.

I'm thinking that will not work but i'm also thinking why not seeing the 25% Chaos damage on helm and 25% Chaos Chest piece could possibly give 50% to help add to my 240% fire over to chaos attack spell.

I don't think if i had two 1 handed 120% Chaos weapons will work. But... I know all my added up fire damage will 100% converted it to chaos for this attack spell.

If I plan to equip all chaos damage gear I know this will gimp ( Weaken) all my other fire spells and melee attacks because they require fire.

A shame we don't have a skill to Convert all skill's and melee attacks to Chaos. I also had to make sure I assigned a Chaos devotion to that one convert to chaos attack skill.

As I was typing this, I thought to my self "iF i used Chaos damage weapons, This will gimp all my fire skills that has no Fire convert to Chaos" :(

is there a question or are you just stating your woes?

The easiest way to check results in game is in your damage tab (tab II).
You should be able to see damage numbers shift and percentages change between damage types as you equip the gear.

Not sure you have enough info on the subject to ask your question properly. So here is a GD forum post that goes fairly deep into conversion (similar to the link already provided):

And even more info on everything game related:

Yeah I can see what your asking. LOL.

I have seen a lot of crazy youtube video's seeing people using weapons that are strong and would increase the damage for that one particular skill but gimp all the rest and also confused me in their builds.. I guess my Confusion and understanding can be for answered questions for me and answers for you people, I'm not saying that the world should turn just for me only.

I mean I know I can't be the only one wondering about all of these setup. Crazy thing is I have made over 40 characters so far and crazy thing is not one of them is yet 100 but also have this fear of the saved files i have in the Cloud I have a check in the Steam settings :(.

I have already caped out at 50 but deleted a few since then.

Move off of Steam Cloud saving then if you're worried about it:
https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/how-to-move-your-saves-from-steam-cloud-to-grim-dawns-default-location/28921

..on a personal level - I would. There are too many clear instances with GD of crap going wrong with cloud saving. Things which never happen to people using local saves.

Thank you powbam for that link because I just new C:\Users\username\Documents\my games\Grim Dawn\save\main just wasn't enough to backup because the saved file was too darn small.

I also made character storage mules under these names: 01 Guns mule 1 and 01 Armor Mule.

Reasons I placed a number so Mules be shown up top because alphabetical order our named characters are in.

I sure hope I don't have to remove check off of The Cloud first because I have read people doing that and all there level characters reset to level-1
and saved storage items all got deleted :(

Just pay attention to the steps he lays out in the guide. Those are just people who didn't pay attention and not knowing what they are talking about and didn't fully disable cloud (it has two spots you need to disable it, in-game and in GD's Steam settings).

Put the saves in the proper location, disable cloud fully, and you're good to go. Nothing gets reset.

First off, I highly recommend using GD Stash instead of mules, saves a lot time with reconnecting / finding item you need ect. / for trading it is also very convenient.

About steam cloud, I never, personally had any issues with it, but I still kept making backups now and then by firstly, downloading cloud saves in -> Network Settings ("Delete Cloud Saves" & "Download Cloud Saves" won't show up when you have cloud saving disabled, so don't get nervous about that happening).

Once you DOWNLOAD CLOUD SAVES, .zip them (in-built feature in most Windows Operating systems), put them on free online storage (Google Drive, Mediafire or even USB flash driv, if you hate online clouds ect.) Also DISABLE Microsoft ONEDRIVE if you can, it seems to bring few headaches sometime here and there by overwriting the save files.

...And now you will have up-to-date save files locally and you can safely disable, like @powbam typed, in-game and on steam GD properties settings too. 2 things to untick to fully drop from cloud.
