Hello, just started playing is there somewhere to stash items in?

Yes. In Devil's crossing Carlile the smuggler is your stash man. Just look for NPC's with a chest floating above their head.

Your personal stash sheet (items you are physically carrying with you) is initially rather small. At the completion of each act, your personal stash will gain another page. You can also pay cash to open up more pages. Also, if you play more than one character, there is a communal stash as well, that all your people can access. This is, in fact, what the Smuggler let's you access. You can use this to just store stuff, or to pass gear from one character to another.

Each town (Crossing, Homestead, Fort Ikon, the Coven, Malmouth and Korvan) has a smuggler who can let you access your communal stash. As far as I know, Barrowholm has merchants but no Smuggler. My best guess is that they killed and ate him. Literally; no joke, they have ... odd tastes there. They are the one town you can choose to be hostile towards.

If you have ever played Titan Quest, there is a really cool mod called Grimillion that has 1) it it imports classes from Titanquest and more importantly for me it has a working version of "Stasher" in it which gives you HUGE storage space increases. The installation was as simple as putting the unpacked grimillion folder into the Grim dawn mod folder.

Still can not find this smuggler guy I must be the only person that this happens to.

You can only reach him after finishing your first quest (so that they open the inner gates of the city and let you in). He is one of the NPCs inside.

Thanks just found him.
You can buy extra personal and transfer stash tabs as well so you get a fair amount of storage space. If you like to hoard items though there are stash tools available you can use.

I HATE that we need to finish a quest before getting the smuggler at the start of the game. That's a really awful idea and there's a reason why Diablo II just gave it to you at the start.

Be thankful that Crate decided to remove the quest needed to activate the riftgate in DC which was in early development of the game. Running back and forth to sell stuff before you did that quest was a real pain.

Just to be clear, so OP doesn't just expect a new inventory bag tab every time he completes an act, you get them from specific quests, not completing acts.
