Champion of the pit

The pit boss at arkovia... LVL 73, elite difficulty. Actually, nothing before and after this boss makes any problems. This one is rly funny:

650k HP, which is normal for that type of boss, lvl and difficulty. He is a literal one punch man.

- He regenerates around 20k per second
- When he gets down to under 80% he gets bored and heals himself to 100% all the time (no healer mobs nearby)
- You can't kite him with 127% run speed, he gets you, he kills you, he skins you.
- He stuns you forever. You can't cast or move forever, even with high ressist on this on my current build/equip.
- He does not care about your armor and res, he downs you by 12k in 2 seconds.

This guy is not champion of the pit, he can literally go and conquer the world on the difficulty, because on same difficulty none of the final endbosses and literally no boss on the way the final bosses, are capable of doing this ♥♥♥♥....

Have all ress overcapped by 40-80% and also limits on most increased by 3-5%, plus 15% absorb and 20% additional phys res on top of heavy armor. 12k hp, which is not tons but decent and as said enough to handle anything on the diff.

I am seriously not sure WTF.

Funny. I restarted the session and now there is the normal "master of the pit" AND "champion of the pit" (another random generated). So 2 bosses in the pit now. The champion has now different abilities but still crazy AF. He charges every 0.5 seconds accross the screen and kills me in 2 sec :D

I can't find anything about [random name] - champion of the pit in monster DB ... Nor on the internet... Is this some april joke activated at wrong date?

the patch is new, you need to wait for the internet to update various places.....
not sure when dammitt gets time to update grimtools DB you just gotta wait until he does

did the fact that patch 1.1.8.0 just dropped 24hours ago and drastically added to the game completely escape you?
yes there are new areas, new bosses, and yes they added a "friend" to boris that drops new items that you are now apparently struggling with

pit is not a new area and they did not say anything about adding friend to boris...

I assume there is some infrequent item equiped bs going on on this, that was not properly tested. Restarted session and the new random same crap with slightly different stunlock ability and same damage.

they never mention the new bosses or items by name or location like that in the note, that's for players to discover where and when (or get spoiled by looking up "reveal"topics on the main forum)
yes they added to the pit, boris will spawn with a friend now, one out of two possible bosses spawn with boris, which will drop a guaranteed MI - these "dueling" bosses are deliberately somewhat higher tuned/more difficult than some other bosses is what i understand - whether or not they need more calibration for lower difficulties we'll just have to see what Zantai says/does in next patch

rekt by protoss is a well known YouTuber that has posted many videos about Grim Dawn covering countless topics and he takes part in discussions on the Crate forum and Reddit. Crate has given a nod to rbp by putting his name in the game due to his many contributions.

you can skip the bosses, but he drop some kinda powerfull medal that can reduce enemy regeneration power which is unique for rare item.

I kinda like Rektby Champion strength as it stands, but I can see him being nerfed as it was a WTF moment with some major kiting and running away on my non-sustain health Conj.

On the plus side DoT does overcome his regen and it can kill him even at L100 Ultimate, which did feel a bit anti-climatic as I just had everything ready to charge back in after my 3rd or 4th run away and received the boss died message.

But for comparison, his attack structure/dmg was more of a nightmare for my Conj than The Iron Maiden L50 SR Ultimate or lower; and I am not kidding as those fights multiple times against Iron Maiden are still fresh in my mind and pretty manageable and at no time put to the pre/early death warning heartbeat unlike Rektby who managed multiple times every 2.5 seconds it seemed lol.

That guy has killed my level 100 Cabalist a few times. For me I have to lure them out one or the two or it gets hairy having both of them going after my pets. The new guy cannot be pet blocked and he hits about as hard as a Nemesis boss when he wants to.

Valinov is American. He is also a playtester, like MedeaFleecestealer and myself. Anyone you see on the official forum bearing the title "Praetorian" by their name is a playtester.

I assure you he doesn't feel slighted in the least. You can find his name in the credits - tho I think he only submitted his real name and not his forum handle.

mad_lee doesn't need anything in the game bearing his name. He already thinks he's the greatest thing to ever happen to GD. Don't want his cranium expanding anymore than it already is now do we? I'd put Maya and Nery in long before him any day if it was my choice. If Z did put him in there tho, I suspect it would look a bit like this..

There is nothing sad about Z putting rektbyprotoss in the game, if anything it further solidifies Crate as a great dev team that respects their community - 1.8 with or without rektbyprotoss getting a salute from Zantai is evidence of that already.

Huh? Well, now i am thinking about this, after patch i was patrolling world on my lvl 100 DK, and when i passed pit i noticed that my health started to actually drop, guess i ran into one of the new bosses, as i got new medal. I set my gamespeed to 5 times to speed up journey a bit, so i dont always understand whats going on, but new celestial totems seems to hurt a bit too.

Need to get on my squishy chars and see how bad that champions are.

yeah i don't think this boss are very powerfull not like it need nerf or something its still ok as minibosses.

I think it depends which build you take to him IMO and what items you are using, lets say really good faction gear rather than BiS.
As a Conj with mostly faction/epic gear he was giving that build more trouble than Iron Maiden I had recently fought several times (including in SR Ultimate), so that provides a bit of context.
You could possibly cheese Rektby with Conj, but wanting to play against him same way I do against such as Iron Maiden/etc.
Point is though, he is possibly very class/build specific in terms of trouble and can be up there with Nemesis for some builds IMO as in my experience comparing him to Iron Maiden.

Unless he has item options to wear when spawn that is causing this spike *shrug*, need to try him a few more times to see if it is always consistent on the Conj char.

Hey hey.. Don't overnerf the new boss now.. I hated how Loggy got nerfed to hell and enjoyed fighting it before that happened.
