What do you think of this Shadow Strike build?
https://www.grimtools.com/calc/Q2zXLDjZ

100% physical converted to cold/elemental with shadow strike, ring of steel and Beronath's fury default replacer. Main devotions are the sweet Kraken for 2h, blizzard, whirlpool and elemental storm for offense with turtle shell and arcane barrier for defense. All stats into physique for more health.

The empty gear slots are just going to go towards capping resistances, but I had a hard time picking a relic. None of the relic options really stand out as the obvious choice. Do you think Nemesis will be useful?

Any changes you would like to recommend?

Conversion is a bit more complicated than that unfortunately. You'll have at least two steps of conversion, one for physical -> cold and one for physical -> elemental. I don't recall which of those happens first. Either way you'll end up with leftover physical damage. Maybe some excess fire & lightning.

Hmm. All sorts of Spellbreaker Shadow Strike builds have been pretty well studied and haven't changed much in a while. In spite of loving Shadow Strike I don't seem to have saved them (I guess because I don't really need them for myself anymore) so you'll have to search around yourself on Crate's official forums http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17 if you want them.

In general your skill points are messed up and you'll have a tough time getting enough DA with other items being standard Spellbreaker fare. You don't really need a default weapon attack with Soulrend so you could go with a Coldstone, Seal of Night, Seal of Resonance, etc. It would be helpful to have more +Shadow Strike too. Typical skill setup looks more like this: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/xZyqLneZ

You'd also want to pick up the extra resist reduction from Murmur/Rumor and with Soulrend's potentially huge Cooldown reduction (with the help of other CDR gear) might want to consider getting Aeon's Hourglass instead of Leviathan so you can have Mirror of Ereoctes or Blade Barrier up almost all the time. Assassin's Blade and Tortoise are unusual and only worth anything for you because you're going for Crab which is also unusual - but they make sense if you do want Crab. Those shields will get eaten without more DA, though, and you won't have much Mirror/Blade Barrier time to prevent that pitiful Spellbreaker hp from evaporating.

The calculator shows 0 physical damage, but it wouldn't surprise me that it is wrong.

I don't know about using blade burst over a default replacer. Lethal assault doesn't last very long and I already have tons of aoe. Further I don't see any reason to use blade spirit, that just looks like complete garbage. Why did you include that one?

I've never used the hourglass but I could give it a try.

As for crab I think it's pretty sweet since the cooldown is ridiculously short.

Thanks for the feedback.

You mostly want ABB for Lethal Assault's flat OA and cold damage. You don't really need a default weapon attack replacer with this sort of build - you can get Shadow Strike's cooldown to ~1.8 seconds, plus Ring of Steel, ABB for LA, Blade Spirit to proc Blizzard frequently, Mirror, Blade Barrier, Pneumatic Burst, dodging dangerous junk because you're squishy - you're busy!

Blade Spirit's not that bad for 1 point but mainly you want a couple of them for the constant AoE attacks to proc Blizzard more reliably. I prefer Rumor or Elemental Storm on Shadow Strike because it can actually affect the proc chance of those (since SS has a cooldown - increasing proc chance per attack) and reducing resists is more critical to your overall DPS than Blizzard.

I have a similar Spellbreaker (even though mine is more ABB-focused) and I'd recommend investing a few points in Conversion (Maiven's skill line): being stunned with such low HP is a death wish so every little bit helps. Having over 10 points in Night's Chill is a tad overkill in my opinion and Overload ain't that great, either. Merciless Repertoire doesn't offer enough to justify spending 12 points on it, especially since poison is not the focus here. Other than that, I second KG's advice and it's a really, really fun class to play with (also, Soulrend is awesome!). :FlashFreeze:

As an example, my old SS Spellbreaker (that I haven't touched since not long after beating AoM the first time) looks like this: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/eZPejEPN

It could use a lot of optimization (it is halfway between pre-AoM and post-AoM Soulrend SS Spellbreaker builds) but it isn't too terrible. Designed for that tactic with Mirror + Blade Barrier + Time Dilation that I mentioned.

Thanks for the tips. I saved your hourglass build and made a new build that still uses whirlpool. Figured I'd try putting a devotion on the Nemesis since you were also using it, and then I wouldn't have to cast blade spirits.
