edit: though to make it amazing you have to complete one of the 2 pet full sets that give eitehr 2x raven or 2x briarthorn. I find that summon skeleton is too squishy later on to be usable and most focus on double other either of thsoe. Pets are very expensive sp wise so you wont have many attacks if any at all and you'll be hard capping your main pet.
Example:
The devotion Mogdrogen the Wolf gives bonuses to both pets and personal bleed damage.
The devotion Huntress deals a lot of bleeding damage also boosts your pets damage potential.
Primal Bond Exclusive skill, which grants both personal bleeding damage and pet bonuses.
There are also several sets/items that support this kind of hybrid build.
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72791 could probably make the Conjurer version work with some alterations. Even better is the Blood Knight set synergizes with both Blade Spirit AND Guardian of Empyrion since the pets do both bleeding and vitality damage.
They were tested extensively by people on these forums during beta, i wouldn't expect major changes just the odd tweak here and there, in fairness i dont ever recall any major nerfs to anything in all the time ive played GD, its just not something crate do very much.
"Conjurer build", and "pet master build" - it's different thingy.
Pet damage DOESNT scale with yours own damage. So... if you are the "pet master" you can ignore "spirit" and "cunning" atributes (because it wont make yours pets stronger... at all). And you must make focus on "special pets devotion", which makes yours spell not so strong like the "pure spell caster build".
+ Bloody Pox - it's a good skill for a cleaning huge pack of a weak monsters, and not so good for a boss. BUT! if you are - pet master you dont really need it, because yours pets can rid trash even faster. (For my taste Sigil of Consumption and Bloody Pox - it's a good skill for a tanky\retalation... or pure spell caster).
If you want hibrid caster\pets build... better take boss-killing skill... like a arcanist\necromanser: "reap spirit" + "devastation" ("diviners vision" set).
Or, just take, pure pet master build, with zero player dmg.
___________
PS. "Conjurer" build - it's thingy like "blade spirit" or "guardian of Empyrion". They looks like a pet, but it's not a pet, and they scale with YOURS OWN dmg - so... here we have much more possibility for a hybrid builds.
as in every hack & slash, pets require a fully optimisation or not at all.
You will not have a good time trying to find a balance or middle ground with pets+ self build DPS.
since you went for conjurer, you will need to max out beast + primal, but there's already builds around this on the forum.
If you want the ultimate pet build tho, you are looking at necro/occult or Necro/sham, altho i strongly give 1st place to Necro/Occultist
Well... it's mostly true. But... only if we are talking about "ultimate"\"best DPS"\"most efficiency" e.t.c. builds.
But of course you can try hybrid build - if you like (you can see some gear set in the game for this). Maybe they wont be as... efficiency like "ultimate-best-build". But they are pretty playable, and if it fun for you - why not.
If you wonder - try it! The essence of A-RPG it's a.... constructor. If you'll get ultimate build from a begining... what will you do after this??? = you'll lose 90% of your fun!!
(nah... much better find it by yourself).
