A "server" being down has nothing to do with any bugs. At the most if the matchmaking server was down they would merely need to reset it.
What server? GD MP is P2P; there's no dedicated server. That's why you can't play with people who have different levels of DLC.
Isn't Crates's matchmaker basically a backup to the Steam matchmaker? Or did I completely misunderstand that (likely due to lack of interest since I only play SP)? Which would make this more of a Steam issue, yes?
If it goes down everything still works fine for people that either have UPnP capable routers or know how to forward their ports correctly - it's the people who don't understand up from down that we usually see posting.
My router is not supporting UPnP, his do. So he enabled this in his router settings and now he is able to host server, and Im joining to him without any problems!
If you and your friend don't understand routers, UPnP, or port-forwarding then you either need to start learning how stuff works so you can simply avoid it even being an issue the next time the match-maker goes down or you simply need to wait until Crate gets their match-making server running again.
I have acted as a host for the past few days. I did not change anything in the connection. I did not change anything in the router. Just flew out of the game, and after a few minutes, when he created the game, friends could no longer join.
I now launched the game, created a network connection and went to the router. He opened ports on UPnP UDP 42805, 27016, 42852 and TCP 27016. I apologize for confusing my thoughts.
For the 42852 port.. it needs to be the range from 42852-42872, as per instructions here...

If it's still not working then something is still not set correctly on one or the other of your ends (or both even).
I meant that I use a translator, so I can express myself clumsily.
When I was looking for a solution to the problem, I went to this site. But since I did nothing with the configuration of the router, and the router still opens the ports, I did not read it. Tomorrow I’ll try to register the range manually.
powbam, thank you very much for participating.
