A question about components and their application with weapons/armor/etc.
I have acquired a ton of components for weapons/armor/items/etc but am a little paranoid about their application. I guess the fear I have is that I would be using them too soon. I now know with Darlet I can extract them (components) from an item, and choose whether to keep that item or the applied components. I am short on money – I just paid the 50K for an expanded stash, I will be selling most of what I find out in the game. But I do worry about using the components too soon. Any thoughts?

Use them. You can recover them or the item later if needed.

Yeah, use them, they can make quite a difference, and after playing a bit, you'll be swimming in them....and at worse, you can farm specific ones, most of them are creature-type specific, so you can target them in your farm sessions.
So I took the advice I got from this thread, and just defeated the Warden. I tried to really buff my armor and weapon prior, but I found I can only attach one component to any given item. Bummer. But good to know!

You'd get quite overpowered by the end of the game if you could attach multiple components to a single item. :steamhappy:
And I was so hopeful! (Haha!)

In higher difficulties, juggling with components and augments in order to cap your resists will become second nature to you, don't worry. :steamhappy:
Am I unable to add components to epic level gear?

You can add components to everything except relics. Just pay attention to what the component says that it can be attached to. And if you haven't figured it out yet, don't forget to combine your components. Completed components are significantly better than pieces. Also there's a whole slew of components that can really only be crafted (extremely rarely dropped from chests). So check out your smith now and then as you progress.

Although I think the Devs should look at allowing 2 components for 2H Weapons. But only those.

If I recall correctly, I think the reason they rejected that idea is the same reason they reject most ideas: They'd have to alter the UI to support it. They really don't like messing with the UI.
