remind me, did EoR change (shield dmg?)

did eye of reckining, ever, do bonus attack/weapon dmg based from shield in offhand?

I'm kinda wondering if i was totally mental when i leveled my Templar.
Decided to give it a spin again and it was a bit weird to figure out what i was doing, EoR + Shield, did this ever make sense at some point?, and then changed in later patches to not work or something?
Just curious if this toon was always off base or if this shield EoR worked/had a point at some time, or if i had somehow completely lost the plot from the very start on this one.

pretty sure it never added shield damage.

i remember that i was pleasantly suprised that it actually supports dual wield weapons (ie. both main and offhand weapon) when i first inspected the oathkeeper skills in detail, but i also noticed that vires might and smite are the only skills that actually support sword & board, which i found somewhat disappointing

makes sense, My templar was/is overall a bit messed up, so why wouldn't i have gone for EoR with shield lol
