Whats a good class to go with Oathkeeper?

Title. I'm sorta new to the game still. I really like using the shield ability, it reminds me of a paladin from wow.

Should I go with Demo for the aoe?

I went with Inquisitor to make a paladin. The thing with classes in Grim Dawn is they become a whole new class by name.

So if you -want- to be a paladin. It's Oathbreaker+Inquisitor.

That depends on which type of DMG and abilities you are going to focus on later. Well Oathkeeper goes well with almost anything since they added a lot of 100% changes for DMG type on items and his abilities. If you want acid poisoning guys you can grab either Nightblade or Occultist. If you want fire and psych then Pyromancer or Soldier will work. You want to focus on shields or you want to dual wield or you want to play ranged, even retalition auramancer tank is possible with him. It all depends on your aim towards late game. So you need to write a more information before somebody can give you any specific advice.

Hey, Im also a bit curious if anyone could help me out as well (Saves making another thread). I'm currently trying out the eye of reckoning skill (Spin to win) and curious on how to scale it better? Am I correct in assuming 'on hit' style ability don't apply, and if so what would be the best secondary to scale it, I was thinking Demo just for the extra fire damage and trying to convert/enhance fire damage to its greater potential.

I did a oathbreaker with demo .. it was ok .. then I tried it with soldier .. Im just facerolling content now

Im doing spin to win oath/soldier and its just flattening things . I was demo for the fire but I seem to get more from the soldier tho im not sure why. unless I get stun locked im crushing it

There is a lot of good gear for EoR so you could go for many things like

Occultist - chaos damage
Inquisitor - fire
Soldier - physical
Nightblade - cold
Shaman - lightning

Pretty sure you can even transmute almost everything into aether and go with arcanist or necro

Well since in another post couple of people tested that dual wield Eor actually sucks against 2-h or sword and board, because it only counts main hand but with shield you get bonus dmg from shield and your main hand. So I strongly recommend to go either 2h or 1h+shield.

If you're new to the game....soldier. It's the 'just f***ing let me play' class of the game. It kinda goes with anything and is the hardest to screw up (oh you CAN screw it up quite easily, but not as easily as the piles of other choices).

Your class won't SAY 'Paladin', but this will be the most Paladin-y feeling class combo. Go all-in with your shield - Oathkeeper already has loads of abilities that make it hilarious, and soldier lets you stack even more shield boosting lunacy on top of it. Previously soldier was the only class that really let you boost the shield, so putting Oathkeeper and Soldier together makes you into Captain America, and a basic plank shield that looks like a door in your hand will be one of the most dangerous things in existence.

You're just gonna facetank everything without even flinching and then beat them to death with one of four monstrous passive attacks that'll go off with practically every single attack. You might think that sounds boring, but somehow it's kinda really satisfying when your basic attack just constantly launches various hideous effects that turn piles of monsters into piles of goo.

But I really think that one of the strongest combination gonna be Dervish (NB+OA) just with skills and devotion you get -88% Acid ress reduction pump Manticore thats -28 all ress reduc + 4 freaking invincible pets that scale with DMG thats just ROFL.

I would personally go for cold damage with Dervish. If for no other reason than Agony being imo one of the ugliest weapons in the game.

My choice would be Inquisitor.

No No seems like you have not checked how the venomblade set was changed now :) and I dont want to focus on spin to win so... just have a look you will understand. I raped my old witch hunter after i saw THAT possibility with dervish now. Poor guy he is naked now :(
