Need Build Guide - Pet Cabalist. Pls advise!
I'm new-ish (20-40 hrs) to this game and I'm kinda loving it. I've picked Necromancer as my 1st class in Diablo 2 so I kinda went w/ the same here and then I picked Occultist then to my surprise turns out Cabalists are one of the most pet oriented builds in this game. Lucky me. Anyhow I've searched google/reddit but most of the guides are quite.. outdated.

Anyway I need a

1. A general guide/build to devotion path and skill path. When do I prioritize mastery over acquiring and maxing skills?
2. Path to Devotions (crossroads > shephered > ??) this is the only one I've seen good idk its too huge i haven't really seen all sorry. Also it seems you can reset devotions but still keep the bonus even if you removed the "unlocker" is this a bug or a feature?
3. A build simulator/calc?
4. Item prioritization. Currently i'm using a "useless" weapon in a sense that I don't really use it but since it has a pet bonus stat i just keep it in my hand. This is ok right?
5. What "non-pet" skills from Necro/Occultist tree are useful? Sometimes it does feel boring but if it helps min/maxing this pet-build then im ok not taking it.
6. What factions do I join?
7. What level do I do that quest where they guy asks me to go to a green portal? I told him to wait just in case I can't really go back to the prison.
8. Skeletons vs Fiends vs Raven vs Hound? I mean I guess those 3 can't beat 8 skeletons but what are their strengths?

Thanks!

because i not yet drop big guide core of pet build.

1. some pet need to be maxed to get powerfull, some just need to take only aura like "familiar"
2. you can choose betwen, tree of life, dying god, korvaak, mogdrogen the wolf, ishtak the spring maiden.
3.https://www.grimtools.com/calc/
4. Player resistance and pet bonus only.
5. Mark of torment: allow you to be very tanky at short time, Bone harvest: can increase your pet strenght, reap spirit: nuking enemy while summoning a pet.
6. Mostly the Order
7. after you clearing Ashes of Malmouth DLC.
8. Blight fiend: powerfull tank that has most threat than other pet, Skeleton: an Army of undead, Familiar: support pet that can heal or attack and provide aura, Hound: a very fast Pet have some aura and deal damage on death .

4. that is okay, you micro your pets, cast spells and don't really attack anyway.
5. blood of dreeg and curse of frailty (and what above said)
7. you can always return. the expansion has complete level scaling and thus you can do it whenever you want.
8. most pet builds use all of them anyway

When is your build dropping :o

Anyway in

2.What devotions do I take before getting to those trees? There's alot of pre-reqs and the devotion thingy is kinda overwhelming me.
3.Can you make a general pet build using that simulator?
4.I guess I prioritize survivability? Am I right to be putting all my points on physique? Cause that's what I've been doing.

5. I do use those 2 alot
7.Oh I see. Thanks but when's the best time to do it? After the 1st dlc I guess?
8.Do I prioritize passive skills or the summons itself?
7: The new DLC has some spolers for the main Game and AoM has some things that would seem out of place if you do Sands first.

2. all you need to really take really if pet build you can spend it for some proc attack and attact it to pet.
3.been working on my newest build take a look for example, https://www.grimtools.com/calc/q2mdAkzN this build has really alot of pet. you can spend 12 skill point on what ever you want.
4. yes we died and its the end, is a good thing you spend it on physique, but left some for endgame item.
