OP: Hello all,

in preparation to the upcoming expansion I want to start a new character that I mix with the Oathkeeper Mastery and Im not sure which Mastery to choose. I only play pet classes and Im already fond of the Oathkeepers Guardian of Empyrion skill, both the fire and acid variants.

It would be cool to chose a mastery that offers pet bonuses matching the damage types of the GoEmpyrion, Physical / Fire / Burn or Acid / Vitality but after viewing the video about this Masteries skill tree again, it looks like it profits from:

... scales with player bonuses (no wording of player DAMAGE bonuses only)

I have several questions regarding this sentence with the example of the Shamans Primal Bond Exclusive skill:

1. Does the GoEmpyrion scale with pet bonuses, as seen on the lower 2nd character page ? If not, it would make choosing a pet bonuses class especially moot.

Example: Shamans Primal Bond offers 'Bonuses to all pets', do they work for GoEmpyrion ?

2. Does the GoEmpyrion scale with player DAMAGE bonuses, as seen on the upper 2nd character page ? There are several limited duration summons that scale with player DAMAGE bonuses, yet the GoEmpyrion skill does not feature the wording 'DAMAGE'.

Example: Shamans Primal Bond offers %Physical and %Internal Trauma damage, do they work for GoEmpyrion ?

3. Does the GoEmpyrion scale with player defensive bonuses, as seen on the 1st and 3rd character page ? Health, Defensive Ability, Resistances, Retaliation etc.

Example: Shamans Primal Bond offers %Damage Absorption and %Reduced damage from Beasts, do they work for GoEmpyrion ?

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions. I want to make extra sure I choose the right class to mix with Oathkeeper. Sincerely.

Ich kann keider nix dazu beitragen, aber ich bin gespannt auf die antworten. Habe selber für meinen Cabalist nie Empyrion genommen. Nicht mal probiert. Aud jedenfall interessant.

I can't really contribute to this topic, but I'm interested in answers. Never opted for Empyrion for my cabalist. Not even tried. I could use some advice , too. Or maybe I'm just drunk atm. ;-)

It only scales with player bonuses. There are 10 total examples of this in Nightblade (has 1) and the Demolitionist (has 2) and Shaman (has 3) and Inquisitor (has 3) and finally Oathkeeper (has just the 1).

Does NOT work:
-Flat damage, ADCtH, and anything else that would normally be applied by %weapon damage.
-On attack skills (bound devotion skills still work)
-Attack and cast speed, or speed bonus/malus of any sort.

Everything else, including on kill effects works as though it was a non-weapon damage spell cast by you.

What is ADCtH ?

IIRC Player scaled pets only take your % damage bonus and your OA/DA, nothing else. They for sure will not gain anything from "bonus to all pets" stats.

Attack Damage Converted to Health

http://grimdawn.com/guide/gameplay/combat.php#q08
Life Steal

Percent of Attack Damage Converted to Health is a form of life steal available in Grim Dawn. It functions differently depending on whether you find it on equipment or on a skill. When on equipment, life steal applies only to your weapon attacks. If you use a skill with % Weapon Damage, that component of the skill benefit from the life steal. In either case, only the direct damage is considered for life steal. Damage over Time, such as Bleed or Poison, does not trigger it.

When found on a skill, Percent of Attack Damage Converted to Health applies to all of that skill's direct damage.

You know, it''s gonna be the most tankiest ♥♥♥♥ ever probably due support for shields. Now only mastery what really specificly supports shields is soldier. Oathkeeper + Soldier = Warlord.

just don't forget, shaman, demo and occultis, give an aura flat damage bonus.
Wintermute Feb 11, 2019 @ 8:48am
It's a shame Occultist is bad for acid. Acid-centered Sentinel sounds thematic AF.

The Oathkeeper Mastery is available under https://www.grimtools.com/calc/ and the Summon Guardian of Empyrion Skill states: 'scales with player bonuses', still no wording of either player damage or pet bonuses.

It says player bonus right there. That means "not pet bonuses". As has also been said during the streams.

It does NOT have the wording: 'damage' next to player bonuses. Pets that are scaled on player damage all (or not ?) have a limited duration. The GoEmpyrion is permanent and all permenent pets are scaled on pet bonuses (or not ?).

I think the wording is a placeholder until the devs finalize whether they want the GoEmpyrion to be permanent / pet bonuses or limited duration / player damage bonuses scaled.

Dude. The devs themselves have already answered that in live streams. I'm not just making this up. It's a permanent player-scaled pet.
