Diviner Mask, Reap Spirit, and Reduce Resistance
Does the "25 Reduced target's Resistances for 3 Seconds to Reap Spirit" only get applied from the initial spell damage or do the attacks from the spirit also trigger it?

My understanding is that the initial spell is the only part affected by item skill modifiers. The spirit kind of works like a second skill that's just triggered by Reap Spirit.

I guess I would either have to spam it or just save it for heroes and such since I probably won't have the energy to keep it up. Thanks for the response.

366 energy unmodified every 3 seconds is not prohibitive. I mean you need 724 spirit just to wear that set and with cast cost reduced by devotions or gear, and energy regen bonuses its fairly easy to spam it (I have the set and energy management is not an issue)

I'm actually planning on using the set for a 2h melee build so I don't really have as much energy/spirit as that. I really wanted to fit a seal of annihilation but my resistances are very tight so I don't really have any energy reduction either.

Well I use it (RS) on a 2handed ranged build as well using diviner mask and honestly ive never noticed energy being an issue, your mileage may vary of course but i use it pretty much on a rotation.
If you have 724 spirit you will have a fairly high energy regen. It shouldnt be a problem.

After finally getting my character to 100 and spending some time with the full gear, I have to say that the resist reduction offered by this helm is pretty bad and is only really decent against single target bosses. What KG said about the RR for Reap Spirit being only applied from the initial spell seems to be true but I can't definitely confirm it since most trash mobs die fast. Although, I've definitely noticed a difference in kill speed after I swapped a ring to a Mythical Eternal Band for RR and skill disrupt resist. I still spam Reap Spirit on tougher mobs since it does have better flat RR and for the fun of it.

Ill Omen is just bad because it scatters enemies away so it's mostly used against bosses who are mostly resistant to the effect.

With ~600 spirit and ~53 energy regen the spell is definitely spammable but I did finally fit a Seal of Annihilation into the build and Reap Spirit is only at 8/16 after putting one point into it.

Ill omen is more for caster types who dont want to be ganged up on, then the scattering is a good thing. Its also good for slowing enemies and proccing devotions

I guess this makes sense on a Spellbinder that fully utilize Reap Spirit since those basically chase down terrified foes while you're focusing on a tougher enemy by spamming it with devastation.

Yes, I do understand that I am playing a character that is not properly using this set. I guess I was just hoping that this set would be more flexible.
