My personal choices would be anything physical, fire, bleeding, acid or vitality focused just to utilize the oathkeeper summon.
So soldier, demolitionist, inquisitor, necromancer, nightblade, shaman, imo.
For what it's worth, Necromancer pet build might have some real power given the effects of the aura you can put out.
Edit: Now I just have to figure out the devotions and find good gear.
Non existent ?? Aura of censure fire built Paladin says hi !
also, word of renewal and deadly aim are always great regardless of the build and inquisitor seal is also useful to have for just abound any build.
If you want a shield build you're probably better off starting with Oathkeeper, then picking up Inquisitor later. Shields aren't really that great IMO if you don't have some way of getting more out of them than the basic stats they come with.
The most basic skeleton of a fire+shield Paladin's skills would look something like this: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/D2pj0EjZ plus whatever offensive skill(s) you want.
might also drop the shield and just make him yet another 2H fighter. i always end up with 2H weapons or dual wielders even if i *really really* wanted to play a character as a shield user :)
if my goal was to speed level him, i'd probably start him as inquisitor and use word of pain. that skill can easily carry the toon to level 50 or something on its own. from the looks of it, the OK class doesn't seem to have something comparable. don't really care for the first toon using the mastery of course. have to try out the new skills anyway and won't just settle for a simplistic speed level build
