There are specific quest arcs tied to each of the factions that you can only get by joining them, however you dont become enemies with the other 2 so you will eventually be able to get their gear.

Edit: reading your post history is just a compilation of necroing year olds threads with useless posts and complaints. Truly a master of the dark arts.
It does matter a bit more, the last of each cult quest give a movement blueprint and it is different in all 3 difficulty. So you get 9 movement blueprint total with at least 3 character and each choosing different cult
